My wife and I booked an impromptu trip to Vegas on Thursday for the hell of it. I haven’t been here in about 10 years and wow has it changed. There are groups of people riding around in the handicap electric scooters for no reason other than laziness. Groups of people hanging out on the corner smoking weed like they are in they are in the hood. The sheer volume of it is crazy to me. The strip looks like Airline Hwy.

I mean, the place is literally nicknamed Sin City.

Don't know why you're expecting it to be paradise.

Well it’s cheap as frick right now because half of it isn’t open and it’s August and like an oven there.

Everyone that can’t afford Vegas is there right now

I imagine the Vegas economy has crashed pretty hard because of the virus. I would expect it to spring back as soon as tourism rebounds.

Other than the scooters I don't think it's changed. 10 years ago you were just probably some poonhound not even focused on that stuff. When you grow older you start focusing on things that you couldn't care less about previously.

Maybe because we’re in the middle of a pandemic, a lot of hospitality workers are laid off and classy people with common sense are avoiding heavily populated places.

Lol no it doesn’t. There is probably more money invested in those 5-6 miles than all of airline highway

Sorry you are offended by reefer, it is called sin city though

We flew in and out of Vegas for a trip to Utah back in July. Spent a night there on our way out and felt the same way. I have never been to Vegas before that though. I attributed it to no conferences or shows to draw in a higher class of people. Basically the only thing open is gambling for the degenerates.

And yes, the ones riding around on the scooters were ridiculous.

Vegas has always had ghetto people on the Strip. If you want to see a more unique collection of folks, go to Fremont Street. Vegas is great for people watching.

Meanwhile, the few tourists you see around the French Quarter these days are mostly clean cut families, like one step up from Amish. With all the sinnin' joints shut down, this is their window.

Las Vegas is in America.

Any place in this country is just a few years from resembling a ghetto.
