I went to Jerry Lee today and was surprised all those old shopping centers on Greenwell Springs are still open.
I saw Cleggs is still thriving.

My hometown is nearly unrecognizable compared to the 1970s and 80s.
It was a growing exurb back then.
Now it’s a stretch of strip malls and car dealerships, with a massive subdivision full of dated and aging houses off the highway.

I had a client that used to take me up to Box Butte county to go deer hunting years ago.
He was in Lincoln but I'd stay a few days extra sometimes and we'd go hunt when it was in season.

I don't have too much immediate family out there anymore so I don't go to Central that often.
My dad has two rental houses out there so occasionally I'll have to go deal with something when he's out of town.
I went to see my paw paw once or twice a week when he was alive but he's been dead for 3-4 years now.

Alliance is kinda a wack town, but the drive thru the Sandhills if you are coming from the east is incredible. Chadron is incredible scenery too

75% of it was leveled by a hurricane.

I was born in a small town and I live in a small town. Probably die in a small town. Oh, those small communities…
My little town is still little but now almost everyone there is a poor.

My grandparents lived in New Orleans East. In the early 80's, when I was around 10 to 12 years old, I could go with my younger brother door to door in the neighborhood selling World's Finest Chocolate for our school.
Today kids would need to be escorted by an infantry platoon to do that.

Shreveport. Shrinking. I don’t think it was so bad in the 80’s. Now every time I visit I always count the places that have closed down since my previous visit.

My parents still live out there but they’re on the other side. Gurney and Blackwater in Willowood Acres. So I usually do interstate and don’t make it into the “town” part anymore.
I swear every time I go into Jerry Lee they act like I’m an idiot I’m glad their food is so good.
This time I was basically laughed at for my mask which I only had on because I thought I had to! LMAO. Their workers aren’t even masking out there. Gods country.

Speaking of places that haven’t changed. Sherwood Forest still very much the same. They have a mid century house in there I’d kill for it the inside is still in the 50s style on the inside.

I'm very familiar with Willowood Acres. My best friend in middle school and HS lived in there. My paw paw had 38 acres on Blackwater that I basically was raised on. My dad still owns all of it.
Yeah, I don't imagine that the mask mandate is being strickly followed in Central

It’s not much different at all. shite I REMEMBERED AS THE ‘good” part of town are now old and the noe part of town has moved. It’s basically the same size and the character has not changed much at all.

Grew up in Baton Rouge.......which is now a cesspool.
You don't realize how screwed up Baton Rouge, and also Louisiana, is until you move to another state.
