Backlog backlog backlog

North Carolina removing 220k tests

Florida dumping 1.5 month old cases

Ca dumping stuff from July and 6k backlogged cases

It’s a Mickey Mouse show in some of these state public health departments

It must be a nightmare for data experts out there who like to track this stuff daily

If you run a Mickey Mouse department, you’re going to have Mickey Mouse results. Public health officials are idiots. We just don’t usually entrust them with important things.

Usually they are just above DMV employees.

if the case is 1.5 mos. or whatever old, shouldn't it be added to the count as of the date the test was taken rather added to today's tally? This may make Chromedome's life hell, but hey, he volunteered for this cross to bear.

Seriously, I have been casually following CD's thread to see how we are doing, but took a long break before the riot spike so probably am missing something here.

Are the outdated dumps added to the current daily total or are they re-allocated to the actual date?

But I agree, it is a shitshow and the true case numbers will likely never be sorted out- how are they removing false positives? The numbers will certainly not be corrected until after Nov. 3.

gosh maybe we should have a federal testing and tracing program.

maybe if we had 1 program instead of 50 that might help streamline things.

its too bad no one has been screaming about that for 8 months but oh well, nothing you can do I guess.

This is the limitation for most of the COVID data aggregators out there, including COVID Tracking Project. For pretty much everything except for hospitalization data, they're simply measuring day to day delta instead of tracking by actual dates. Throw in the mishmash of state reporting "standards," and you have a data disaster. Put in a couple of doses of just abject data dumping, and you have a day like today where nothing is accurate.

It's why I get into throwdowns with people over the Georgia data. News reports based on reporting date, even though Georgia tracks by date of first symptoms or test date for asymptomatic, as well as date of death. Two completely separate pictures. Just have to change the filter in a drop down. Pathetic job from health departments across the board.

It’s the Iowa caucus all over again.

And then you have those that tell us to trust the science.

normally I would agree but when you have something that effects every state, and its something they need to coordinate on as fast as they possible can, it needs to be federal. its not like the the COVID in Texas has a cowboy hat or some shite, its the same in Florida as it is in Maine.

Who in the federal government is supposed to do this? Certainly not the so-called experts, they're behind most of the chaos.

But I agree with you to an extent - it would make everybody's life better if Trump mandated standards and reporting procedures across the board, so Dems couldn't game the system or outright cheat.

A good start would be a rational definition of a COVID death.

Ordinarily, I may be inclined to cut some of these officials a break, but after Russiagate, Blasey-Ford Kavanaugh attempted assassination, Ukrainegate, etc., to the Biden-Harris cunts adopting the 'dRumPf killed 160,000 American' twatter troll default response, it's unforgivable. Too much frickery, it seems, going on.

This is normally my response as well, but if the CDC is going to set policy that affects the economic and social liberties of 50 states, they need to normalize and standardize the data so everything is consistent.

Unfortunately, I don’t trust Fauci. I haven’t followed the White House’s requirement of hospitals to send data straight to either the dept of health or through an approved state dept of health, but I think the idea was to get it standard and consistent.

Either way, they’ll keep moving the goalposts and keep the shitshow running until people have had enough. Glad to live in Georgia.

Well, I am proud to say that I got negative results from a rapid COVID-19 test today in Oklahoma. I deliberately stood up one testing place, just to see if I get results from them in the mail saying I tested positive.

Will update if so.

Why do this? Then the Dems would just say he is acting as a dictator and this is a state's rights thing. Trump can't win in the eyes of 50%(hopefully less) of the population even if he gave them all $1 million.

Month and a half late has happened in Louisiana at least twice.

At present cases reported are from testing at least 10 days ago, if not 14.
