How did I completely ignore one of the greatest rock musicians of his era?

Expecting mega downvotes for this-go ahead- I deserve em all. I’m 54 years old and I am only just starting to listen to this guy’s canon of music and I’m embarrassed to say that throughout all the years of listening to all the great music of the past 50 years, I never once spent even a nickel to buy any of his work. The artist I’m speaking of.....................
Alice Cooper!

The singularly best showman I've ever seen live.

Scratch golfer, best friend of Glen Campbell and former Bud red drinker. Cool dude.

Billion Dollar Babies is one of the best albums ever made. Complete package, front to back.

Generation Landslide is a great song. His "ballads" are solid too. Only Women Bleed, You and Me, and I Never Cry are all playlist worthy.

per The songs are much more catchier, more melodic than I expected. And the Beatles XM station is what did it for me. They played a recent interview with Alice Cooper on that station and they talked all about his career, how he was influenced by the Beatles, etc.
Anyway, I’m a fan now and Alice Cooper is all I’ve been listening to on my Spotify

An incredible stage performer, and he's known to be a really nice guy who is happy to visit with anyone who approaches him.
He's also a die-hard Christian, so he's got that going for him.

The Killer album is just that. Not a weak track.

He’s quite a showman. The theatrics he uses in his shows are the best I’ve ever seen. I saw him live twice opening for Mötley Crüe on their Final Tour and instantly became a big fan. He is as equally funny as he is entertaining.

Long story short, I ended up somehow getting backstage passes to a Motley Crue show on the farewell tour and he was opening.
I saw him walk by after his set and I was sorta staring at him or something I guess. He came over and struck up a conversation. Talked for about 5 minutes. Really cool and nice guy and signed my backstage pass.

Saw him around Halloween about 10 years ago. The show itself was incredible but so was the atmosphere around the show. You had all kinds of characters that you’d expect to see at an Alice Cooper show combined with a ridiculous amount of smoking hot women in incredibly slutty Halloween attire. I was busy flirting with a couple single moms in front of us when one asked if we needed drinks. 15 minutes later she comes back with so much booze that the usher is helping her carry it all. It’s definitely one of my top 2 concert experiences of all time.

I really didn’t intend to buy tickets to the Motley Crue show in Jax but I won two so I caught it. He was awesome!! Enjoyed his set much more than Motley Crue. His sound is much heavier live too than on record.

Only 3 down votes so far. Must be those Eagles fans that keep infesting this board.

"Welcome To My Nightmare" and "Alice Cooper Goes to Hell" are two pieces of perfection, and it's a homerun of back to back releases. Cooper is a legit songwriter

I saw AC at the Centroplex in the spring of 1979. Great show.

Cooper is definitely one of my all time favorites.
I even love his "New Wave" era (early 80's) with the albums Flush the Fashion, Special Forces, Zipper Catches Skin and DaDa.
