nighttime landfall makes this so much more of a problem for people trying to ride it out. At least during the day you have a visual of what's going on. Tonight the power will be out, it'll be pitch black, and the water will start rising on you.

I wasn’t looking forward to it hitting Houston at night and My biggest concern is trees falling not flooding.

No power and you wake up to 80 degrees. frick all that.

I couldn’t imagine being in In SWLA think this one is ok to ride out

if that Jeff P wasn't lying (and it came from the cop), some of those storm chasers are already trapped in lower Cameron

Better go to the courthouse or the school

Where did you see this reported?

The Weather Channel reported that NWS Lake Charles was putting their storm shutters in place and evacuating. NWS Brownsville, TX will take over for NWS Lake Charles.

This storm surge they are pimping out on TV. I haven't watched any media beside tropical Tidbits and this board and they didn't mention the insanity of 30 Mile's north.

Are they being just TV shite casting for ads or what?

I'm starting to see facebook moms post pictures of their kids with chalkboards saying "my first hurricane" so I feel like we've hit peak insanity.

I think we're seeing a perfect storm of the virus taking up all the room most people have in their head and the unbelievable hype up of double-cane landfall 2020 starting off with a super dud with Marco. It's like this storm is even catching public officials off guard with how unprepared some of them in Louisiana are. Then people at home in western Louisiana are so burned out by the virus they don't care about the hurricane heading their way and said f it and stayed home.

i think the shelter issue is going to leave a good number of homeless/poor people dead and JBE is going to get some heat

I agree. I just saw shelters were giving hotel vouchers because of covid.
