Cardinals Players Test Positive for COVID

A number of members of the Cardinals' clubhouse just tested positive for COVID-19. It is hard not to think that this will impact the plans of NCAAF and the NFL. It does not seem to me like football is possible this year, and that is the hard truth. It is looking more and more likely that my weekends will just be fully occupied by hunting and fishing.

18 marlins were positive this week and baseball is still going on and the SEC announced a 10 game schedule yesterday.

MLB did a horrible job preparing for keeping players protected. They had to readjust protocols after the Marlins fiasco.
This doesn't affect football in any way. Manfred hates baseball and did nothing to make it safe.

Or the news media/public just need to not freak out over every. single. individual. positive. test.
it’s the perception of everyone freaking out over it that causes more harm than just quarantining symptomatic players and moving forward

SEC bought more time with Sept. 26. If students come back to campus and break outs occur, it's ova. And breakouts will occur....2021 boys.

Exactly. The MLB is having a hard time keeping professionals that earn millions of dollars quarantined. The NCAA is going to have a hard time keeping college kids quarantined. College teams could not even prevent players from catching COVID over the summer.

I think college football should go to games every 2 weeks so you have time to quarantine affected players between games.

So you are a Doctor? I can tell you right now I have friends who have tested positive filling out paperwork and never took the test and it came back positive

But....but... Fauci said to panic!

This board is getting so repetitive. This thread starts every time someone in pro sports test positive.

Well I am a medical student at UT-Health in Houston, so no, I guess I am not a doctor yet. However, I am surrounded by the situation all day.

18 Marlins tested positive, and 19 of them will recover FULLY.

There are no medical reasons to keep players protected. They are protected from COVID-19 by virtue of being healthy. Eventually a player will die, and all hell will break loose, but it won’t change the reality, which is, for players, this is about one fifth as bad as the flu.

Yeah that’s not true, even in healthy young people COVID is worse than the flu. And it’s not just about the players, they danger their coaches and communities of they let the virus just run rampant and unchecked

Are you an idiot or a stooge? They are playing football. Quit trying to ruin everybody’s mood. The SEC just announced it yesterday. GFY
