Anyone here successfully treated insomnia without prescription meds? I've tried most of the common tips (eliminating caffeine, melatonin, hot baths, etc...) but nothing works. Also, my problem isn't falling asleep. It's staying asleep. I usually wake up after 3 or 4 hours and then it's another long night tossing and turning.

It might be a gimmic, but I saw this company called Cloudy that makes melatonin/lavender vape pens. I may give 1 a try for a month and see if they work. I also have trouble sleeping at night, mostly due to back and shoulder issues, and when you wake up at 5am, my sleep is valuable.

Workout. Hard. That’s what helped me. Make your body so tired your thoughts can’t keep you up.

Problem drinkers start experiencing withdrawals after 3-4 hours. Causes a lot of anxiety. Wakes people up in their sleep, usually for about two hours and then they go back to sleep (about the time they should probably be waking up). You probably don’t drink often if you’ve tried common tips for better sleep because that’s probably #1 or #2.

Have you tried going to bed 4 hours before you need to be up?

I have issues going back to sleep when I have to get up around 4am and take a leak. This has been a fairly recent development. Getting old sucks

used to have a similar problem. Something is stressing you out. Eliminate that. Mine was work related. Also exercise helps a lot. I get at least 3-5 miles in per day.
