Driving in South Korea is interesting. It takes some slight of hand, quick reflexes, and heavy faith in God you don't get hit by a taxi or a Daewoo bus. Hopefully you don't hit someone who will follow you for the next 30 miles to a rest stop and threaten you with an axe handle. This actually happened to a guy on a convoy we were on who clipped a guy trying to merge and wasn't paying attention to his blind spot.
Car insurance is required but it's stupid expensive so many drivers don't carry it. Instead they'll want you to pay them off in cash. It is almost encouraged to nearly drive recklessly and if they think they can fit their car in a space between you and the vehicle in front of you, they will.
This is a nation that has high tech and sporty vehicles on the road but a driving culture that had only established itself in the 1960s. I'll never forget driving on their version of the interstate from Seoul to Dageu in a 2.5 ton LMTV and a guy in a Hyundai Tiburon wanting to race me. My vehicle probably does 60-65 MPH tops which is about the speed limit. It would also run over that car like a speedbump.

When I was a youngin the traffic circle was a major highlight of a trip to the big city of Ellick. Right up there with the chicken fried steak, rice and gravy, and jello at Picadilly.

And if they do happen to have a mishap, I'd bet dollars to donuts no "Personal Injury" lawyers are lining up to represent them so they can recover lost income, pain and suffering, vehicular damages, medical bills or any other revenue source these scumbags can come up with.

My theory on why there aren’t more accidents in places where people drive like that is that everyone has to be super focused and paying close attention because of all the craziness and disobedience of traffic signs. Here, for the most part everyone follows the rules, so many people grow careless and don’t pay attention, playing in their phone etc. And that leads to some of the worst wrecks.

I was in a wreck while in India. They definitely have wrecks but the thing is you can never go fast enough, and their cars aren't big/heavy enough, to do major damage usually.
Our driver and the other driver just yelled at each other for about 10 seconds and then decided it wasn't worth it to care about it.

For all the jokes, that intersection probably moves 10 times as much traffic as a similar sized intersection with traffic signals here in the states. And the traffic flow overall is generally better with much higher densities than most US cities.

I've seen similar shite in when I spent some time in N Africa.... it's chaos...no one uses lanes, just people weaving in and out at all times at whatever speed they want...and somehow it works. Never witness an accident
