No. But I will check him out when time allows
He's a left leaning white biology professor who use to teach at Evergreen University in Cali.
His story starts when he opposed the change from a day of exclusion where black students/teachers didn't show up to the university to whites wouldn't be allowed to show up to the university. He said, in an email, he would. SJW students showed up with bats looking for him. Campus Security called him and told him not to go to the university that day, they couldn't provide security for him.
It got a lot bigger than that, lots of crazy shite. His take away was that they were against the Enlightenment simply because it came out of Europe. Evergreen wanted to do away with all STEM.
Crazy shite.
If you YouTube his name you'll find at least a hundred hours of interviews.
And this isn't a Bible toting conservative, he's quite left.

Point is, I had to bump this thread though because Toddy PRIDE is a parade I can get behind.

Hot Toddy gives me hope for this country. If that dude can see reality, anybody can.

The Grove is literally burning this time?
I feel for you though, Toddy. I truly do. LSU is one public pandering display away from losing me forever... something I never thought possible.
But these current times are impossible. We have all, collectively, allowed this to happen through passive enablement, and blatant inaction.

I wish Athens county government was like that. We have a commission full of SJWs

This is clearly an attack on the history of European immigrants and their descendants in America. It’s a racist movement.

This is exactly how cancel culture is defeated. There is actually more of us than them.

Post modernism and intersectionality can get fricked.
I went down a rabbit hole on post modernism and have concluded it to be a cancer on society that has grown from out of "intellectuals" and cultivated in our universities.

So I'll start with our last child goes to Ole Miss. She was talking about the statue at the circle and was happy that it was being moved and said that she didn't think it was right that the place where it will be relocated to would be "beautified & glorified". I didn't even know there was a confederate cemetery on campus so I researched it. Once I found out a little about it (Trip Advisor of all places had the helpful reviews) I explained what I learned about it to her -- she wasn't aware of the full story -- that there are Union soldiers there -- that there are Ole Miss students/alum who were part of the Greys that are buried there. I encouraged her to look at it from the angle that HER fellow OM Rebels as well as those Union solders who were fighting slavery were laid side by side and deserved to be in somewhere that wasn't a dump. That things today have to follow code/guidelines. She sort of let the topic go after that even though she still "doesn't like it".
I asked her when she started caring about statues -- I told her that I walk by a statue and say "oh that's nice" and keep walking. She said that she never thought about them either until she started being exposed to other peoples views -- I didn't think that we sheltered her but I guess we did. I asked her why she cares and she said because her friends care and that she cares about her friends. She asked if I was upset that she was trying to be inclusive and I told her NO BUT I was upset that she was only looking at it from one angle.
I do think that the university though shouldn't have said that they had the full support of lots of groups including ASB as ASB in no way supported this move from what I understand (she's on ASB). I don't agree with ASB wanting it moved (although relocation is better than destroying) BUT I don't think that support from a group should be lied about (this group or any other).
I didn't even know that there was a confederate statue in the square -- I mean we go, we eat, we shop and I just never paid attention. Guess she'll be wanting that one moved as well -- at least she's for relocation and not destruction.
All I can do is "discuss" when she brings these things up -- my plan is to pray her through these next 3 years at OM, including next semester when she's taking the required "Diversity" course which will be southern studies. I'm thinking I want to read some of what will be her required reading mainly for my own curiosity.
People balk at the situation of her being at OM as opposed to LSU as we're life long LSU fans/family. I don't know that anywhere is any different though. It somewhat worries me but I know that our two oldest boys aren't easily swayed and we've raised them all the same -- I'm just hoping that she stays true to her roots and values.

Toddy,
I know your are outspoken and public about this (noting your outing those idiot history professors in Facebook), but I suspect there's a "silent majority" among OM alumni that feels the same way (you mentioned some anecdotal evidence).
Are you finding a similar trend in the homosexual community?

Defunding them is important to stress “Get Woke Go Broke”.
But it is also important to publicly push back!
1-Frequent said grocery store
2-Tailgate the Ole Miss games and express your 1st amendment rights. Wear your old Reb T-shirts or buy a Cricket and make new ones.
3-DO NOT surrender the University and team to libtard SJWs!

quote:So you're voting for Trump right?
I think their goal is to destroy this country and by extension, Western civilization and thought. They have created a perfect storm that has given birth to the Great Cultural Purge of 2020, which with diabolical precision will attempt to destroy, cancel, ruin anything in its way not deemed acceptable. I also think the few places that (hopefully) endure the shaming and attempts to destroy them will be regarded as national treasures when historians one day look back on this. Any place that still has a relic that connects our past ( a single surviving statue of a Founding Father, a name whose origins were in ire of The Mob. Even a lone memorial to dead young men who died centuries earlier., History is replete with occasions such as this when the 'enlightened", out of vengeance or vindication (depending on one's perspective) tried to erase history by destroying historical relics and cultural institutions to placate delicate sensibilities. History also never remembers these events nor their participants (no matter how noble they perceived their actions) in a positive light. Quite the opposite.
Because you are voting in support of this nonsense if you don't
