Exactly. The vast majority of people, me included, have probably never even read the inscriptions on this or the monument in the Circle. I even had one of these freaks tell me that they and their friends "felt fear and anxiety' when "they had to walk past the monument on the way to class" and a friend "was seriously thinking about transferring due to her anxiety"

Yes. All but four students enlisted in the Confederate army. The vast majority of the students ( and a few professors)formed the University Greys. They suffered 100% casualties at Picketts Charge at Gettysburg when they advanced further into Union territory than any other Confederate regiment in the entire war. There is a statue/memorial to them at Gettsyburg and a stained glass window created by Tiffany in Ventress Hall (the first library ) on campus. Some of these dumbass kids were bitching about the "monument to the University Greys" when I corrected them that the monument didn't have one thing to do with them. These people are so woefully ignorant of history they didn't even know or understand the origins or to whom it was erected.

My "liberal" causes can wait for years if that's what it takes. We MUST come together right now. Anyone that cares about this nation, saving its ideas, customs, habits, reminders of the past - our cultural identity- MUST rise up and say NO MORE to this bullshite.
