Anyone played out there recently? I went right before shut down and I may have saw a few goats out there chewing cud.
Such a cool lay out too.

Top golf layout on LSU's campus, for sure.

It's a shame it's dropped off so much. It was never great but still in decent shape for the treatment it got.

Loved playing there in college

My buddy played there two weeks ago and said they shouldn't be charging any money to play it. Take that for what it is.

I played there twice in the last week. Played Tuesday after the weekend rains and the greens looked better than when I played Saturday. The grass high and if you don't put it in the fairways, good luck finding your ball. They said once it drys, they will cut the grass but that course holes water so the goats maybe a good idea.

U.S. Open rough but with ant piles and crab grass. Goat ranch greens. Would avoid currently.

It’s amazing that they don’t have the LSU turf management program maintain that course

Why would a student or professor want that Goat ranch on their resume?

It’s a cool layout and better than Webb, it was in decent shape a couple years ago but definitely just needs a decent super. I enjoyed playing there when I lived in BR

I played 9 holes last week and lost 4 balls by landing my drives or approach shots about 3 to 5 yards in the rough. After 9 holes I just gave up. It’s in terrible shape.

LSU fricked up when they raised the prices to play there and let it get worse.

I graduated in 07. The course was never amazing but you could play for $14 w/ cart. The driving range you could hit as many balls as you wanted to for $5. And that little pitch and putt they had in the parking lot was awesome. I used to bring an ice chest of beer, back up my truck, and spend an hour or two working on my short game under the lights.

My understanding is they fired the actual greenskeeper that knew what he was doing and hired some lady that has no experience and she’s run the course into the ground.

That pitch and putt was awesome. I would have liked the greens to be slightly bigger and the putting surface to be a little better (just matching the course conditions). But it was a fun way to spend a few minutes.

If it was still open, I would probably head over there during lunch time. Would be a quick and fun way to practice.

Considering how much money LSU has it’s odd to me they can’t maintain the course better. Like I said it used to be in decent shape and then the super left. Love the front 9 there especially 6 - 9

If you are charging $14 a round w cart there is no superintendent on the planet that can keep it up year in year out without ever losing it a time or two or more.

You cannot keep a golf course up with no money.

Where else do they get money? Are you referring to the tiny $1.25 per student Please continue your personal attacks. It makes your argument so much stronger to just attack without providing a single fact.

Uhh, the university. Which it's not clear if it's just that $1.25 (which would still be $55k) or if other activity fees are included as well.

It's not a personal attack, you are just a broken record in every thread like this and you are wrong.

So you expect that $1.25 per student to cover what exactly? So you genuinely expect college kids to borrow money to pay for a lifetime of student loans so all you guys can play golf?

What does this even mean? Do you think having a university funded golf course is unique to LSuU
