The California Faculty Association released a statement in light of George Floyd’s death and recent protests. The group also created a list of demands for California State University that it says will provide "redress for systemic anti-Black racism in the CSU.”

The CFA demanded CSU “provide free tuition for all Black, Native, and Indigenous students.” Trends show that enrollment of these students has been decreasing within the CSU system. To increase admission of these “marginalized students,” the CFA proposes that the universities make efforts “to overturn Proposition 209, the ban on affirmative action.”

According to the CFA, “racial pay equity” is necessary because “workload is also higher for Black faculty given that CSU faculty are majority-white, and CSU students are majority of color resulting in 'cultural taxation.'”

Haven't they pretty much already been getting free tuition if they wanted it?

Free tuition for undergrad will just diminish the value of a college degree even more. People will start getting more masters degrees to set themselves apart, and that won't be free. So this ultimately does nothing to help out the black, native and indigenous students.

These CA universities have plenty of money in their endorsements to cover the costs of tuition for minority groups. Let them set up scholarships and put their money where their mouth is.

Professors can do that immediately by refusing that portion of their salary and compensation that is commensurate with the percentage of black, native, and indigenous students. I'm sure they will. They don't seem phony at all.

It's time to end racism! The solution is to divide everyone up by the color of their skin and treat them differently.

Bigotry becoming less and less covert as people reveal their ultra low expectations.

So how do they define these groups seeing as how outside the Indian Rolls there are no definitions for races?

One Drop? Those folks intentionally trolled, as admitted by 23&Me, falsely given printed results containing 2% Sub Saharan African DNA ... are they gonna qualify for these benefits and set asides?

So they will be requiring mandatory DNA sampling and family histories dating back to time immemorial?
(my family dates back to Augustus Caesar, I'm sure somewhere in there is a little ethnic mixing)

They should go for it.

It won't change the 60% drop out rate of African American men.
