How does it happen? I am 20 pounds over the weight I would like to be right now and I see the number and myself in the mirror and think damn I gotta lose this. So I wonder what happens how do you get to that point? Asking so when I get older I can avoid that scenario

Also currently down 5 pounds 15 to go

Have you not tried the Popeye's spicy chicken sandwich?

Keep thinking that but do nothing about it and eventually die.

I eat because I'm unhappy, and I'm unhappy because I eat.

It's a vicious cycle.

Eating is like a mini vacation. I like vacations.

Going by My 600 lb Life episodes, a lot of them had truly horrific childhoods, often including sexual abuse. Some people compensate with alcohol or drugs. They turn to food. They also usually have a spouse or family member who enables the behavior for their own fricked up reasons.

Because I'm not vain and I'm happy with myself. I don't have insecurities about my body like you do. I also like to enjoy life, eat, and drink.

I quit smoking & really didn’t notice I was eating THAT much more
Pants got tight but no huge deal
All of a sudden I noticed I was fat, it seemed like it went from a few pounds to a bunch overnight
I started walking & was doing at least a mile but typically 3 every day, then everything started closing & my routine got broken up
Then you feel bad about yourself for being fat & giving up
It’s a huge mental hurdle

I would have honestly never quit smoking had I known the weight, stress & depression that it caused

I think it's a snowball effect.
People start eating bad and then don't feel like working out.

Bad choices beget more bad choices.

My friend just quit smoking at the beginning of covid, and he has started to put back on weight that he worked really hard to shed this past year.

If we don't stay active we become lardasses.

I just retired and I realize I can't just sit still after 43 years of working. Not behind a desk, but physical work.

My body hurts, but I know to not stay active will kill me.

My goal is to lose a few pounds and maybe I won't hurt as much.At 6 feet and 216 lbs I can stand to lose some weight.I'd like to get to 180 lbs.

It will be easy to put these goals off,but I'm dead set on living to see my grandkids grow up.

I can tell you a high stress job will keep the pounds off.
