That’s awesome, I love to see star athletes go to smaller schools. Steph at Davidson, Larry Bird at Indiana State, they are fun to watch dominate.

Steph wasn’t a big name out of HS and Bird went to Indiana first.

I respect the hell out of that, good for him. Don't just post shite on social media, let your actions & decisions speak.

Y’all realize we are talking about Howard and not Grambing right? Howard has a larger endowment than LSU.

like all smaller universities some HBCU’s have great academics and some do not

Common sense says that a school with great academics would not be marketing as "historically black", a euphemism for currently black, because they would have high demand from top students of all races.

Why are you asking this question? Would you be asking the same question if he had picked LSU over Penn State and Northwestern?

Obviously because Howard is not very good at basketball and in the weakest conference and he is looking for logical reasons this guy would choose to go there.

Picking LSU over those two isn't as far a drop as some of the schools to a HBCU. Would be better if you used a school like SELU/NSU/McNeese instead. Just curious as a player always needs something to fall back on if an I jury or they don't live up to the hype. There was a 5* in football a few years ago that picked a small local school and was never heard from again. Mainly due to exposure, etc.... Basketball is different sure but being seen and on tv helps.

Yes, his younger brother.

Also, Mikey Williams, another top prospect has talked about going to Howard. Maybe this gets him to take that next step as well.

Just wait until Dickie V starts tweeting about Howard because some other coach told him to

Trump's investments in the HBCU's are already paying off. Notoriety wise, barely anyone knew what a HBCU was until he started propping them up & investing into those schools a few years ago. obama certainly never did anything to help them.

Mikey Williams from Calif, #1 PG in 2023 is considering HBCU. More power to them.

Chris Paul is about to come out w/ a docu-series on HBCU recruiting.

What’s at stake exactly???...it’s a generation of upcoming parents who could care less about the SEC ,Big10, etc.... the NFL doesn’t care where you play at

That's definitely not what they mean when they say historically black.

Correct. If you can play they will find you. That doesn’t mean that someone can’t be potentially developed better when there is better coaching, training, medicine, etc which are more available at the big schools.

Is Howard not a HBCU? Are they a basketball power?

As long as the families are pimping out their sons, and that system is too well defined by now, very few elites will follow his path. And agents won't allow it as shoe companies want maximum exposure for their clients & shoe companies are where the money is for agents. Good for the kid, sincerely, but with the way the sport's world is today, money money money, and now the G League's existence, the big schools will continue to get the players they ...pay for.
