He needs to be asked whether he is going to remove Gen Mouton from the street named for him. These tyrants must be harshly dealt with if we are to maintain civility.

Political suicide. Sad. He could have just sat back and let it blow over.

The Mansfield Battlefield is a La. State Park and would be a perfect place for this statue, since he was a commander at that battle, and was KIA leading his Soldiers on horseback at the front of the charge on the enemy ranks.

Sword held high and pointed toward the enemy, Gen. Mouton charged into a hail of enemy fire and certain death.

I am one of them. Josh Guillory isn't 5% the man that General Mouton was.

Gen Mouton led a successful charge. According to reports, Yankee troops were trying to surrender and they were still being fired upon. He rode up to stop the killing. One of the Yankees picked up a musket and shot him. I would think he had more honor than the trash wanting his statue removed.

I hate to break it to you, but the guys that wore the gray uniforms were Americans too.
You keep saying this like it means something. Aldrich Ames was an American too. He's rotting in an Indiana prison until he dies.

What a great take. A guy fighting for his people and a serial killer are totally the same. You must have a really high IQ to make such a connection.

I saw some members of this group first hand. Stereotypical angry white lgbtq people fighting for racial inequality while black people walking right past them and not acknowledging what was happening.

So apparently they tried to move this statue in 1980 and it was blocked by a district judge under permanent injunction, stating it could not be moved. Would this still hold up and is what the city doing illegal?

My question is "When is a court ruling expired?" Roe vs Wade. Is that expired? Same sex marriage. Is that expired? Is this something new that ONLY the left gets to do? If so, then ALL laws and rulings have officially expired, including the 16th Amendment.

One more thing for the coward mayor-president to consider. General Lafayette was a close friend and a huge supporter of George Washington, a man somehow now deemed to be evil because Washington owned slaves. Perhaps it's time to change the name of that city he presides over that is named after someone who admired and hobnobbed with a slave owner.
