What is the creepiest thing you’ve experienced while in the woods?

I have a friend of mine that told me a buddy of his was in a deer stand, heard something walking in the woods, and then an older woman walked out into the clearing. Come to find out, it was a woman who escaped a prison near by. Apparently freaked him out pretty bad. Probably didn’t actually happen, but the thought of sitting in the woods, thinking you hear an animal and then seeing a human walk out
Edit, can’t believe I forgot to put this:
My girlfriends family owns land in a rural area south of Centreville, MS. North of Clinton.
They have a graveyard on the land, oldest grave is one dated 1836. Latest one is 2016 I think. Families still come visit the graves. Anyway, we ride four wheelers back there all the time and it gets pretty creepy back there at night. One night, we were back there and we heard a high pitch voice say “hello.” I don’t even believe in ghosts, but this shite FREAKED ME THE frick OUT. My girlfriend says she thinks it sounded like Mickey Mouse and thinking back on it, it kind of did.

Yeah, probably not. But the thought still creeps me out.

Coyotes howling while in stand and it is still pitch dark.

Came across an old abandoned house once. Creepy as hell.

I was in a deer stand not seeing anything. Got on tigerdroppings to kill time and the only comments were Oweo's and Lester's. I almost put the barrel in my mouth.

I found a human skull.

At camp there used to be a ponytail braid hanging from an abandoned water tower where we would stay at.
It was supposedly a serial killer named the whistler who murdered young girls and cut off their pony tails. So there were also random whistles sometimes just cast about the somewhat large camp grounds.
This was of course a fake ghost story made up and perpetrated by counselors to scare the fricking shite out of elementary and middle school children. It totally worked.

I work with a guy from Plaisance, LA and he tells me stories all the time about how he hunts near an abandoned church. Says it creeps him the frick out and says he “feels weird” when he walks past it. He swears that there are ghosts there

That one isn’t that bad. It’s not like the coyotes are going to get in the stand with you.
I’ve forgotten my keys to the camp gate before, had to park on the side of the road and hoof it the half a mile or so to the camp house to get the keys to the four wheeler. Having to walk back up that dirt road with the flashlight and only armed with a 270 and a pistol in the pitch dark fricking sucks. Incredibly nerve wracking.

I was checking some pipeline rights of ways a couple of years ago in the middle of nowhere. I stopped the 4 wheeler to write some shite down, and out of a big bush, I hear a woman’s voice say “hello”. When I gathered my self enough, I asked her if she was alright and she said she was...I fricking left. Thinking back on it, she was relatively young and attractive, but her clothing was tattered and she was dirty as shite.
Needless to say, it has been several years since I have laid eyes on that stretch of pipeline.

Was hunting in the stand with my dad when I was a kid. Had birds moving and squirrels running around like a typical evening. Right past dusk out of nowhere we heard this cat scream pretty damn close behind us. Everything in the woods immediately stopped moving and it got silent real quick. To this day we have no clue what it was and never even heard it move around us as close as it sounded. That was the longest walk to the 4 wheeler I can ever remember. Just typing this out is making the hair on my arms stand up from remembering it. Every time we talk about it the old man always told me how he couldn’t be a pussy in front of me, but he was scared shitless on that walk out.
I know it’s always a hoot here on this site about cougars, or panthers, or whatever people think they see. I’ll be damned though if I never forget that sound and think about it hunting at dusk. This was the early 90’s so it’s stayed with me this long.

1. That’s pretty damn armed
2. Creepiest is a bobcat growl/whine/scream in the middle of the night...I don’t know what to call it but it sounds like a baby child being murdered or something screaming in the pitch black forest

What a dilemma. Possible crazy sex or getting chopped into pieces. Maybe both at the same time

I stepped over a cotton mouth snake coiled around its nest on the bank of a bayou on our property. I saw it raise its head and open its mouth as I went over it.
I learned why they’re called “cotton mouths.”
Damn near shite my pants.

It was probably a bobcat. Or just a feral cat
