Huey and another was Christian. I don’t remember if I knew the 3rd one or not. Last name Forbes? Maybe that was Christian but it seems like I remember them being cousins? I went to NE Elem and was friends with them back then. I went to CHS so we didn’t keep in touch. I think they went to NE HS

I’m sure we probably know each other too

I was hunting with my dad and brother a few years back in NW Oregon, and we went on a push we’ve done many times before. Walk through some normal brush and hills for an hour then it opens up to an old clearcut and you’re back on the road. Well once I got into the old clearcut I walked up probably 40 yards away from a cougar. It got spooked and took a few hops and disappeared back into the denser forest.
It wasn’t a large one but still would have wrecked my shite if it wanted to in a few seconds.

For me it was red bugs. Also for me while walking along a drainage canal bank (from rice fields) looking back and finding I stepped right the frick over a cottonmouth without noticing it

Huey was a couple of years older than me. He eventually transferred to Central Private which was how I knew him. I later left and went to Central High. I don't recall knowing the other guys that died that day.

After reading that post on here I tried finding an old digitized newspaper article about that story but didn't find anything. Pre internet days I guess.

Did it have a tree growing through it?

No, I don’t think so. It’s been so damn long since I’ve seen it I can’t really remember

I think I used to date your GF.

And the creepiest thing in the woods is a set of stairs.

Probably one of her older sisters

I don't believe in Sasquatch, big foot, or the Loch Ness monster. However, I fully believe there is non-human, bipedal creature lurking in the marshes of Venice, LA.

You’ve been touched and that experience will linger with you until the day you die. Either you KNOW or you don’t, I passionately wish I didn’t know cause it’s totally ruined my enjoyment of the outdoors ever since that fateful weekend. I found it was very cathartic to get my experience told to people who wouldn’t find me a nut job and listened, yet asked serious, poignant questions to make sure I wasn’t bullshitting them. A friend of mine said he and another buddy were riding around at night in the woods near an old bomb shelter. His buddy was driving. My friend the passenger said he saw an old lady rocking in a rocking chair with a glow around her and he could hear her cackling. He got freaked out but soon after his friend that was driving turned around and left.

Neither do drugs and my friend said he didn't bring it up to his friend that was driving for fear he wouldn't believe him and think he was crazy.

Years later he reminded him of that night and the driver admitted that he saw it too and is why he soon turned around and left, and also didn't immediately bring it up for the same reason.
