This is so true! This pendulum swings both ways. So I am child of divorce parents and basically raised by a single mom and grandparents. I had to much stress as a child. But as an adult now, I am able to handle the reality of that life is difficult and not always pretty. On the other side, I have a cousin who was given everything and cannot function in the real world at all. Graduated college and everything but has no idea what to do with his life. After LSU, I watched a lot of friends struggle with the reality of work and family life and that life wasn't always a party. In the words of my mother "There are a lot more Mondays than there are Saturdays in life"

They are that way because of (((academia))). The boomers and the generation before them allowed Marxism to be taught in schools and it has gotten worse every generation.

Yeah, and for a guy that is already 30, that's never done hard work, it probably wouldn't be a good choice. The same goes for any trade that requires labor, such as crawling under houses, pulling wire, toting tools, ladders and hardware, he would be doing all of that, until he is at least 40.
I suggest the least labor intensive thing possible. Hell truck driving would probably be his best bet, but it sounds like he has a substance abuse problem, so that's probably out of the question.

Hell fricking yes! Nothing wrong with that at all. Do work.

On the other hand, is there really no job out there where his current degree will be acceptable?

The greatest jobs program in history for young men is the US Military, and no, you don't have to be rambo to join.

They are supply jobs in every branch.

The Boomers are the ones teaching the Marxism.

Hell there is big money in ditch digging...I know a man who has been installing 1 inch PVC water lines since the late 60's at a $1 a foot...now about $2.25. Put 2 kids through UGA and owns a house on Lake Oconee which is worth about $3 Million.

Sounds like dude has taken a pretty typical path to adulthood....wasted early 20's, fought the idea that they were wasted and then reversing course...

True Story from a Lady I work with about her Liberal son

We (I’m Gen X BTW) give the Millennials shite all the time. But let’s be honest, they weren’t born this way. Babies born today are just as much of a blank slate as all babies born in past generations. No, we, thr parents of America made the Millennials and Zommers or whatever else comes after.

Too many parents wanted to coddle and shield their kids from having to learn to live in the world.

Too many parents wanted to be their kid’s “friend” instead of their parent.

Too many parents gave to and did for their kids to the point the kids never learned to work for and earn anything.

Too many parents left it to the schools to teach their kids not just the basics of reading, writing, and arithmetic but also things like history, morals, and the responsibilities of being an American Citizen.

Too many parents never cracked open a Bible to teach their children the Christian faith upon which this country was founded.

So when we see all these young people in America acting as fricked up as a football bat, just know, we made them that way.

The important part is he survived and has a direction. He has already ahead of tons of others. Best of luck to him.

College campuses are woke factories churning out communists that are taking over our newsrooms. corporate boardrooms and elective public office.

If we're going to stop that, we must end government backed student loans and make them forever illegal, and lastly seize their endowments to pay down the student loan debt and free the trapped generations of millennials and zoomers who are slaves to their debt and cannot find a good job, start a family or buy a house.
