Will anybody still accept a 30 year old?

When I was a sailor at 18, I had this 32 year old ex-Merchant Marine guy in my boot class.

He is now hoping to enroll in a local trade school to become a plumber.

This part is very positive.

At least he may have a path forward.

I hope this works out for him.

Any skilled tradesman is going to do well. And you can't export those jobs to China or Mexico.

our schools needs to encourage students to pursue a trade. instead of the 4 year college being the ultimate goal. our country would be a lot better off.

Unfortunately, I am not a locksmith, I did have the opportunity to learn it, when I was young, but I liked the heavier industries more.
I have a friend who has his own Locksmith business in a small town. He does pretty well. Most of his business is probably unlocking car doors at Walmart, or making keys. Then sometimes some residential jobs, installing new systems at the local motels, stuff like that.
You should probably talk to a real locksmith about it though.
