Yeah and I know places like the braves and rangers new parks have tried to recreate it, but I’m not sure you can have the same feel when it’s limited to a smaller area. You can get anywhere downtown from Minute Maid and party all over the city after a big game.

I mean I'm fully aware that my opinion is based on what I was personally used to and that I am probably in the big minority here

I guess I really don’t understand what you’re trying to say.

Yeah in the case of PNC and Minute Maid they had areas that were in the urban core but pretty underdeveloped and ripe for gentrification as well.

Downtown was a shithole growing up. Toyota center and Enron field did a lot clean up that area.

All the MFG down buffalo bayou is getting pushed out now. There is still some shops on Polk like Lincoln, but I am not sure they are going to make it

Also the sample size of true “south of the MD” downtown parks is maybe 3 and two of those are Florida parks. MLB in a place like downtown Nashville would kill it IMO

Hell, in Atlanta, had the Ted been in Downtown itself (near MBS/GWCC/State Farm), it would've killed it more than being in Summerhill.

I wish the Rangers just would have built a roof over the stadium they had. Wouldn't that have been a lot cheaper?

I liked it better when the hill and flagpole was still there. It was funny as hell watching Berkman run up that hill at full speed to catch a fly ball.

Nashville can barely support an NFL team.

Stick to hockey and MLS. We don't need to fund another one their white elephant shithole erector sets.

I never got why people want everything in the Metroplex to move to Frisco (outside of $$$ money reasons)

Living in Dallas proper going up to Frisco is a pain in the arse. Same for going to Arlington. Neither city is willing to pay for light rail which straight up sucks for going to a game b/c that means you always need a designated driver.

The company i work for has offices in Wilmer, just to the south - quick cab ride to the trains and I'm watching baseball. Could have gone a few times over the last 4 years but passed because the temp outside was over a hundred.

I really don't care what the outside looks like, it could be built like a damned rubik's cube - as long as it isn't 100 degrees inside during the summer. Last summer I saw ChiSox and Royals in KC and was freaking miserable, 100 degrees at first pitch at 7pm. Drank about 3 gallons of water through that game, and the stadium had cut the prices in half to keep people there.

They didn’t have a problem packing the place in those World Series runs.

But agree they need more comfort and distractions like the attached entertainment center... in a “normal” Rangers season.

It’s just the aesthetics and baseball feel are so much worse than the ballpark. Maybe they can play some early season games across the street. Hate to judge not having seen a game yet though.

Retractable roof stadiums will always be ugly. There isn't a baseball feel to any of them.
