Holy shite. As soon as I got to “new,” it was suggesting “cases,” then produced a bunch of headlines with the random number I typed.

This isn't a conspiracy. Everyday, national and local news sites post articles with the number of new cases and total cases for cities, counties, parishes, states, and countries. Considering that the pandemic has been going on for months and there are 1000's of news sites posting numbers daily, its mathematically probable every number between 1 and 999 has been used in these articles. These old articles from March or April don't disappear, they stay on the internet and appear in your search.

It gives hits for that number. I did 223, then 446, then 111 and sure enough there are counts out there.

A news story pops up from somewhere in the USA with that exact number of cases

Seems like google has a news story for "### new cases" regardless of the integer you put in for ###.

Math isn't my strong suit, but there are way more number configurations using any three numbers than there are days that this virus has existed. Possibly more numbers than days, counties, and cities/towns combined.

Shouldn’t that correlate to area codes?

A quant friend of mine was fooling around with this and told me about it.

Yes, she's Asian, yes, she's hot, and no I don't have any pics. Well, I do, but she'd kill me if I posted them on here.

It's not combined. You have to multiply to get the total number of possibilities. Combinations and permutations from entry level stats class...

What's your best guess on the possible number of 3 digit combinations?

You’re right it’s not your strong suit

There are only 720 possibilities and yes we have more than 720 towns and cities in this country
