I agree but in this case it actually was. My wife's car is financed at 1.8% interest.

So give someone 30-60k in a lump sum or finance it and put that lump sum to work for you making money ??. Bold strategy cotton! Never believed in putting my money to “sleep” no matter how wealthy I was at various stages in my life. Always put it to work!!

Better to take the rebates and the 2% interest from your bank

You may be smart but you’re a really bad negotiator if you’re not recouping +50% of those rebates with the 0%.

I recently bought a truck with 0%. They said $4500 rebates or 0%. Got $4,000 and the 0%. I’ve done similar on 2 other vehicles.

I’ve never seen them be able to give the rebates and 0% (it doesn’t
Ale sense to from a business perspective). Both cars we’ve bought have been far below what Truecar says is an exceptional price. Neither Toyota or Jeep would do this. Maybe you are a better negotiator than I am

I always just make dealers compete against one another and when too many dealers say, “I can’t beat that price” I know I have a winner.

My truck is about $425 and my wife’s suv is like $475. My truck is almost paid off so no worries.

They gave me an extra $1000 off to finance through Jeep yesterday. I have to do the 3 payments and then it gets transferred to Navy Federal for 1.79%

Wife and I are members of a credit union, and both have credit scores over 750 but the best interest rate we were offered was over 3% when I was buying my truck.

About $1,020 per month. BMW M3 lease

ETA. I should have worked them on the price a bit more, but I was not so lease savvy at the time. Also had the max miles allowed per month...lower residual
