Looking for a new system to sharpen my pocket knifes and would like to keep it under $100. I would really prefer something that is not motorized as I enjoy the process of doing it by hand. What y’all got for me.

Worksharp field sharpener. Only one I use now.

The work sharp is a good one but I find the 3. Stage Chefs Choice much easier to use, it's around $90. I had one for over fifteen years and works great.

It's like people only read the headlines.
I have a set of Arkansas stones I use. Work fine for me.

I love the Lansky kit with 5 stones.
I prefer it over the Worksharp by quite a lot

I assume you have no clue what a worksharp field sharpener is.

The WorkSharp field sharpener IS a hand sharpener. Not like most of their other products:

Get a wet stone set for when you have patience and a Worksharp for when your patience runs out

Correct. I guess I apologise. I thought they were all the motorized things. Y'all are smart. I am dumb.

I’ve been using a Lansky Arkansas stone sharpener for over 30yrs. Works fine for me...

I have the Spyderco sharpmaker. Should be able to get it for less than $100 and it does a great job.

When you are in the bathroom, leave your cell phone behind and sharpen your knife. The worksharps are pretty good though.

I’m a fan of Japanese Water Stones.
I find the entire process to be relaxing.
Get yourself a double sided Suehiro Stone. You’ll also need what’s called a naguro Stone for working up a slurry.
YouTube will show you how to do it.

I was taught how to sharpen a knife on whetstones, and that's still my preferred way if I have the time and opportunity to focus on getting the angles right. Lansky kit works great for me when I don't have that opportunity, and what I typically use to sharpen my work knives.

another vote for the spyderco. I have used one for 20+ years and it’s fool proof.
That being said I now have a work sharp and use both equally and sometimes on the same knife...
