What are the board's thoughts on Stoeger (Semi Auto) Shotguns?

I want a semi auto 12 GA and a friend stated that he has one of these. He lives in LA and I'm in TX so I can't easily go out shooting with him.
Stoeger M3000

So you value the opinion of random people on a message board over your friend’s opinion? Assuming of course that your friend likes his.

It doesn't hurt to ask others on a board dedicated to the outdoors what their opinions are on a topic.

Never used one personally but a lot of people on here have and they are generally well reviewed. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one if I was in the market and the price was good.

I have the M3500. Same gun but can shoot 3.5" shells. The M3000's max shell length is 3".
I've owned it for 3 years now. Bought it 2nd hand and not sure of its history before I owned it but it's never given me any issues. I wouldn't hesitate recommending it to anyone looking for good semi-auto at a decent price.

This is literally the point of a niche message board.

I have one. It’s a decent gun. Had a few issues with shells not ejecting but it was due to not cleaning the gun. If I were still into duck hunting I would upgrade to a Benelli.

I have the M3K 3 gun and love it. Cycles fast and smooth, shoots great.

In that price range I would also look at the Beretta A300.

Own an M3000. Never had an issue and I shoot the hell out of it. Would recommend.

I have 2....no complaints

I shoot the M3500. Not a single issue. Love it.
The best option of the reasonably priced shotguns. If not this gun, might as well jump to the $1500 guns.
I chose this one because i do not clean my gun the way i should and cannot justify sending that much money on a shotgun.

i shouldered one when i bought my Beretta. It felt bulky. But i know a few ppl who hunt with them, and they havent had any problems.

Great gun for the price. My sons were each gifted one for Christmas. Not much recoil and feels great on the shoulder. Would buy one in a heartbeat

Went and looked at some at the Bass Pro near me. The sales guy seems to think they are discontinuing the M3000 model. I think I'm going back tomorrow to pick up the M3500 with a 26" barrel in all black. Only a 28" barrel for the M3000 in stock. I didn't like the ones that were in camo (some kind of grass/leaf design). It is $600, which seems high, but not bad in this crazy market.

My sons M3000 were about $600 each 6 years ago. You can pay more for a semi auto but why would you? Enjoy

2 hunting buddies use them for duck and geese. They have no complaints
