I am on #2. Many of my friends move every 3 to 5 years. I was talking to my buddy in banking. He told me average length of home ownership is seven years- Unreal To me

I'm on #3.
I certainly intend to be in this one longer than seven years.

35 years old and I bought #2 a year ago. Bought my first one in 2011. Don't plan on buying another one for quite a while.

I’ve purchased 5 including investment properties, but were only on #2 as far as our residency goes.
Been in both for 2 years and I’m ready for something bigger. I’ll want #3 to be the last.

Technically 4 in 6 years, but different circumstances.
-Wife had #1 when we met. Sold it to me for all of 45 seconds so it would’ve be covered by a corporate relo
-Bought #2 due to move mentioned above. Did a ton of work to it and shortly after finishing wanted to buy a duplex as a rental project. Bought #3 with the equity from this one.
-Bought #3 with sole intention of reno to rent. Took us about a year to reno working on it nights and weekends. Pull in enough to cover the remaining of the mortgage and mortgage on our current house.
-Bought #4 after finishing the duplex. 6 acres in a good school district. We plan to stay.
If I have to move again before my funeral it’ll be too soon.

You must be white. Us blacks can’t get no mortgages and loans

I’m almost done building and it will be the first and only primary residence. We waited longer than most and built a house that we will never grow out of. Don’t know if I’m going to regret it or not.

But was this have to do with systemic racism ? Housing inequality?

In my second home
Lived in first one for 12.5 yrs
Been in this one for 2 and don’t plan on moving again unless it’s to downsize when I retire. It was such a pain in the arse to move I can’t imagine doing that on a regular basis.
