Some folks are saying the Baton Rouge Country Club isn't diverse enough

Just passing along what I'm hearing. Frankly, I think private clubs should be able to discriminate. I've heard the Baton Rouge Country Club has non-White members. I don't have a dog in this hunt. But, I'm just letting you know some folks figure they should be members.

I know there are some. But, some folks are still bitching about it.

Im guessing the number of black folks in BR that want or could afford a country club membership is pretty low

Of course. And, I assume the people talking about this can afford the membership. But, they haven't been asked and they assume they should've received an invitation by now.

*A few isn’t enough. They need let people in regardless if the they can afford it or not, especially POC.

ETA: Damn, I’m good.

Do you know the PGA tour played there?

LOL I hope they don't do that.

The NFL and NBA player base isn’t diverse enough. Where are al the Asians and Mexicans?

I don't think that's how it works. I'm sure if they can afford it, nobody will turn them away.

With that logic, why don’t you open up your home to a few who can’t afford it?

You don’t just randomly receive an invitation
You have to get three active members to write you recommendation letters and then meet the board before being approved

That's how the CCLA got started

I don't know about now, but in the 80's they didn't allow Italians as members.

I saw this discussion on my Facebook. Local Baton Rouge community lady kicking up dust wanting to talk about "integrating the Baton Rouge Country Club". Almost 100% people of the community replying to the thread. Strange, they all agreed but none had any desire to actually go there.
WTF is integration? I mean last I checked, if you got the dollars and you really like golf, you can sign up at these private places no problem. Seems to me the country clubs are waaay more about dollars than race. I have a friend who is a member and he's black. But he probably makes $500k+ a year and has done so for so long that he doesn't understand normal people problems.

BRCC admitting black members hasn’t been allowed until somewhat recently
Posted on 6/7/20 at 8:15 pm to Shaft Williams
They should shut their whore mouths.
77% of black children born out of wedlock
Most AA who start making money leave black neighborhoods
Focus on that shite rather than score keeping on membership at a private club.
The priorities of these woke folks is completely fricked up
