I just don't understand why you'd want to force yourself onto someone. I don't get it. Let people be who they want to be around socially.

That's absurd for trashy Baton Rouge. What do they think they are, Bushwood?

I don't know about now, but in the 80's they didn't allow Italians as members.

And we started our own club.

In the 80s there was a no Jews sign.

Webb park (westdale country club) (20s) was originally the country club that allowed Jews and other so called undesirables (italians, irish), then Sherwood Forest CC (50s), then CCLA (80s). Don't know if BRCC has its first Jewish member yet.

It is a country club. Diversity isn't really the point, by design.

If your last name ended in a vowel you couldn’t get it. Everyone knew that.

That’s why all the fine St. Joseph’s Academy girls went to the Sherwood Forest country Club.

Should be black only, and the white members must wash their feet monthly to maintain membership

This has been a going thing since the 90s, if not earlier.

My school held a big kumbaya retreat for the senior class then, when we returned, told us that BRCC was offering to host the graduation dinner and basically started a race fight in the class. Anyplace that was suggested wasn’t good enough because black people didn’t fill welcome there.

The final location? A plantation home in the BR area.

Can’t wait for BRCC to get publicly shamed.

They won’t give a shite

I grew up there, quite literally, and family in BR still members. That place is old school. They might gain popularity with potential membership if they get bad press for this.

There’s your problem, trying to play on the irish.

While cheaper than sod, they are usually sloppy
