He was @ 91 years, 4 months and 12 days old, a two-time graduate of LSU in Physics, B.S. 1949, M.S. 1951, football season ticket holder/attendee for over 40 years, lover of all things purple and gold. He was a girl's best date on a Saturday night in Tiger Stadium. When Mom "retired" from going to games, Dad and I started sitting together.

He saw 4 National Championships in his 91 years.

He and my mom met when they were 14 and 15 years old. They knew each other for 76 years.

Please pray for my mom; she has been silent and I know she's heartbroken (Also please pray for my dad.) There are more siblings. We will be strong for her and will get through this.

Reality won't hit me until I can't watch anything LSU with him. The other night, we watched 2007 LSU Florida game on with Jacob Hester, Flynn, Dickson and Steltz commentating and telling stories. Dad laughed when it was revealed that it was Flynn who had found out and released Tebow's phone number.

Thank you for teaching me love and to show passion for LSU sports.

R.I.P. Daddy-O.

My condolences to you and your family.

What a great tribute to a man, a daughter who writes something this wonderful about her dad. I hope my daughters can think this kindly of me when I pass on.

I am so sorry to hear this. Looks like he and my dad attended LSU at the same time. (My dad would have turned 90 this year. He started LSU in '47 and graduated in petroleum engineering in '54 after having to take a couple years off due to medical issues.)

Oh, the games they must have seen in Tiger Stadium in those days with Y. A. Tittle playing! Two events I know your dad saw happen as a student at LSU included the first day of classes in 1947 being cancelled due to a hurricane, and a stripper by the name of "Stormy" from New Orleans being brought to perform on campus by one of the students who was running for student government president. (I think you can still find articles and photos of the mild riot that caused when she and her band set up at the Greek theater.)

I can only imagine the stories he had to tell of The Ole War Skule.

Yes, I know what you mean about what you perceive it will be like watching LSU play without him right there. I still think of Dad before and during every LSU game even 27 years after his passing. It's like he's somehow still here with me and right by my side at certain times.

I will definitely keep you and your mother in my prayers here. It's a very hard thing to lose your father. Especially when your father was as good and loving as yours obviously was. Your mother was blessed with a wonderful husband and you were blessed with a fine father.

Forever LSU.
