Played with a friend yesterday at his home course. We had the second tee time of the day as a twosome, some how a fivesome sneaks in front of us at the turn. We stopped for about 2 minutes for a Gatorade. We get to number 10 and there is a fivesome- wth.
I mentioned to the grounds superintendent and he said that’s the GM or pga guy on staff.
What?
We are waiting on them every hole. I mentioned it to the starter and raised hell with him.
He said that’s the guy in charge and he does what ever he wants.
I never have experienced anything like this.
Ok moving on.

To make matters worse lol - he deleted my fb posts calling him out about his bush league bs.

Complete BS

i would have skipped #10 and jumped in front of them then played #10 last.

Is he going to kick you off the course for the same shite he did?

He has a boss, everyone has a boss, no way I'd put up with that shite at my home club.

Your friend needs to raise hell.

My list would be too long, so I’ll limit it it to my current pet peeves:

As a player - seniors that don’t rake traps, fix pitch marks on the green or fill divots with sand. Ladies that refuse to let men play through and turn a 3.5 hour round into a 5 hour round.

As a homeowner on a course - both members and non-members abusing the course by riding carts all over the place and especially not following “cart path only” rules when the course is soaked.

Baw that would've pissed me off real bad.

I have a lot...

Ignoring Carts-on-path or 90 degree, not letting faster groups play through, hacks shooting 90 but reading every putt from three directions, mulligans and foot wedges

Eta: if you're just out having fun then mulligans and footwedges are fine. I just don't like the guy who hits three mulligans, bumps every lie and then tells everyone he shot 78

Had a guy watering the greens from a tractor parked on the fringe the other day. It was around 9am, midway through our round. That shite is ridiculous when you’re paying $75 to play.

Got held up by a 4some on Friday. Had a kid playing solo in front of us and they wouldn’t let him play through.

Had someone jump in front of us the other day on the back 9. They just strolled up and tee’d off on 10

Getting paired up with people that are in a big hurry esp when we’re always waiting on the group in front anyways. Driving their cart way ahead of you after they hit, having to constantly yell, “heads up” because they’re in the way. Kicking 5ft putts back to you and racing up to the next tee box just to wait even longer. I’m all about ready golf if it’s convienant, but the single trying to race through a round in 2 hours on a crowded course needs to chill the f*** out.

1a. The guy that just drove it 225 waiting for the green to
clear with 250 left on a par 5.
1b. People that refuse to let you play through when you're
obviously playing much faster and no in is in front of
them.

Hitting a perfect drive then hitting the 8 iron approach shot with the heel of the club because you're getting cocky and not focused

oh you meant about other players?

slow pace of play not letting you play through.

Second to not letting faster players play through -

Someone saying "looks good" or "good putt" midway through the putt. Seems like 9/10 times its going to break out when someone says that. It's a little thing that bugs the hell out of me.

Losing balls not hit in the water or OB. I'm talking about you hit a tee shot left or right of the fairway, you're tracking it all the way to the end, you're sure you know where it ended up. Get to the area, and it's like an alien spaceship came down and abducted your ball. Losing a ball in the rough or around trees/roots like this drives me frickin nuts and throws me off for multiple holes

The guy that wants to hit 18 cups. Inside the leather and you're not playing for money? Pick it up and move along... especially when another group is waiting in the fairway.

The guy who waits until it is his turn to hit to get his distance and pick a club.

The guy who throws the flag stick down instead of sets it down.

The guy who wants to retrieve every ball he sees on the edge of the water.

The guy that stand over a ball for 30+ seconds... I don't care if you hit it to a foot...get up there and pull the trigger.

The guy who drops after a lost ball but doesn't count the penalty. Drives it in the water right, goes to the point of entry and drops, hits it on the green and two putts on a par 4... says he made a 4...nope you made a 5! (edited to clarify)

I've played with guys who shoot low 70s and guys that shoot in the 100s and everywhere in between. I don't care about your skill level... but if you are shooting 90+ then you need to play fast.

Played grand ridge a few weeks ago. Had an 8am tee time. Standing on the putting green before we tee off and a group of members goes off at like 755. Marshall didn’t say anything, but I didn’t really care.

Not two minutes later another group of members rolls up to the tee box and Marshall says they can go off. They wait about 10 minutes for the first group to clear the fairway, tee off, and then sit on the tee box for 15 minutes while one of their buddies gets his shite out the car because he’s late.

At this point I’m fuming. That’s two groups with no tee times that went off before us and one of the groups couldn’t have been bigger assholes. We ended up not teeing off till about 840, and the Marshall didn’t do a damn thing about it.

Haven’t been back since and won’t return to that dump.

Seems like slow play is everyone’s pet peeve. Do Marshall’s help at all where y’all play? Marshall’s are non-existent in my course.

What is your pet peeve about people you play with?

For me it’s people that don’t give a shite about honors. If I just made a birdie and you got a triple bogey, let me hit first. My brother is sways first to the tee regardless what he shots on the previous hole and it irks me. People that hit their driver and then head immediately back to their cart gets me too. If I hit first, i always wait for the forth guy to tee off and then walk back to my cart with them.

I'm not good at golf by any means, but people who blast really crappy music annoy me. Also, as I tend to find myself in them a lot, people who don't rake their bunkers after hitting.

Playing music too loud. Busting out the bluetooth for 18 holes of bro country. My cousin does this.

I really wish this hadn’t become a thing in golf.

Ranges that have yardages signs and they are nowhere close to what they really are. One place I used to play frequently had a nice chalk board with today’s yardages because you obviously have to move the hitting area to allow grass to regrow.
