quote:

Robert Johnson, founder of Black Entertainment Television, told CNBC on Monday the U.S. government should provide $14 trillion of reparations for slavery to help reduce racial inequality.

The wealth divide and police brutality against blacks are at the heart of protests that have erupted across the nation following last week’s killing of George Floyd during an arrest in Minneapolis.

“Now is the time to go big” to keep America from dividing into two separate and unequal societies, Johnson said on “Squawk Box.”

“Wealth transfer is what’s needed,” he argued. “Think about this. Since 200-plus-years or so of slavery, labor taken with no compensation, is a wealth transfer. Denial of access to education, which is a primary driver of accumulation of income and wealth, is a wealth transfer.”

And here it is folks...

But here is an idea, why don't we take the cost of these riots and their affect on the economy out of the money allocated first...

Robert. Go frick yourself.

My family was never involved in slavery. Hell, some were basically slaves to coal mining companies.

I wouldn't bet against it if the dems had the white house and both chambers of congress.

No. Because Democrats will just rile up the next generation of urban blacks and convince them that they are being oppressed and hated because of their skintone and that all white nondemocrats are racist. Then everyone will want another $14 trillion.

Calculate every dollar a black has received in free housing, food, school, and health care. I’d bet we’re way past $14T

Newsflash: no black American alive today was ever enslaved. If you can find one who is miraculously still living, I'd be all for giving him/her $378,378.38 of that $14 trillion.

I don’t understand how a self-made man like Robert Johnson can think this way. Maybe he can start first and give up all his millions to “the cause”

Pretty sure some dumb bitch a while back on CNN said billionaire Mike Bloomberg has enough money to give everyone in the country $1M. I’m no mathematician, but shouldn’t $14T distributed amongst 14% of the total population equate to more than $450K per person?

Reparations is one of those issues that I refuse to get angry about, or even discuss, because it's too stupid.

There is no mechanism for something like this to ever happen.
