As far as the politics are concerned, I haven't seen anything that would concern me with any political leanings. All the humor has been quite balanced towards both sides from what I've seen.
Uhhhh, that’s a big negatory there big Tom.
This show is extremely negative towards the Trump administration and decidedly one-sided. It spent an entire episode making FLOTUS come across as a complete dimwit. The constant jokes about Twitter and POTUS texting to give the Russian guy free access to secrets... definitely one sided. That said, I want to punch the Facebook/social media aide in the mouth every time I see him on the screen.
So, I guess I’ll keep watching it.

This thread is a lot of people saying it's funny, then dovetails into people saying it isn't. Almost like the people who like it work different hours than the folks who hate it.

CIBRS
Covid interrupted body rhythm schedule.
Hey, it's still light out at 7pm, maybe I'll go for a walk before eating lunch and then watch Dottie drop the ball on purpose before midnight dinner.

I’m sure that they’ll get a second season if that cast wants a second season.
The Firefly, a show that's actually good and has a rabid fan base, cast says hi.

I don't think the Firefly cast has anybody with the name recognition and clout as Steve Carrell or John Malkovich. Or even Lisa Kudrow. Or even Ben Schwartz. Maybe not even Jessica St. Clair. Nathan Fillion might be more popular than that last one now, but he wasn't in 2003.

Tried it on Sunday. Made it two episodes. Awful. I actually don’t know a single person that likes it. I think most of us just had high hopes for a good comedy coming out of this quarantine but it just missed the mark. I don’t know if it’s the writing or the story line or what but it just feels forced. Concept could have been really good.
Oh well
Oh well

i think the problem is the general premise is ridicule in search of a joke to make about it
I enjoy it because the humor doesn't always come in the form of jokes, but the deadpan delivery in the face of such an absurdist main storyline. It's like a serious story, but if it was in the Airplane! universe...to me anyway, lol
I enjoy Carell's character, but Malkovich is the secret weapon. I LOL'd several times at the "rake gag" bit when he berated himself with no one else in the room

India? What a loser! Sex is for winners!!!
I did LOL at that one.

This thread is filled with the exact people that I think would not like a show like this. This show is very similar to VEEP, and I’m sure there are a lot of MAGA bros that didn’t understand that shows humor either.
I’m enjoying it so far, and the cast is solid. Malkovich is great, and I’m glad he’s gotten as much air time as he has.

What a crock of shite. To compare this in any way to Veep is fricking ridiculous. Veep is hilarious. This show is paint drying while someone rakes a chalk board with a nail.
I give 2 shits about the politics in a show like this. The only thing funny is that the writers thought this shite was funny.
How you can watch the suit testing episode and not think the show is shite is beyond my logical reasoning.
Boring and unfunny. Horrible sitcom.

I’m 2 episodes in and it’s not often laugh out loud funny, but very enjoyable

I'm all MAGA.
VEEP is one of mine and my wife's favorite show in years. Loved that show. Hated to see it end. Bad time for HBO to me. Silicon Valley, Veep both ended near the same time, and those were pretty much the only shows I watched.
You know what was so great about VEEP?
They took the PC culture and shite all over it with no stopping. It made fun of everything and everybody. I really liked every character in it. Jonas was the gift that kept on giving.
I've seen the first 3 episodes of Space Force. I'm really really wanting to like it. I need a new show to watch and am a big fan of Carrell and Malkovich.
The jokes just aren't that good, and I really wish they were. You can tell where they try to have the big jokes during the episodes, but they just seem to not hit the mark.
I'm gonna give it a few more episodes. One episode is not long enough to get invested in the characters or the story, and that matters a lot when it comes to liking tv shows. Also takes a bit of time to watch Carrell and get Micheal Scott out of your head. Hard to appreciate the new role when you're used to him being regional manager of a mid-sized paper distribution company.

His character in Space Force is nothing like Michael Scott. Michael is a douche, a user, a jerk who isn’t ignorant, he’s not just insensitive, he has absolutely no regard for other people, their feeliNgs, or their personal space.
General Neird, on the other hand, is a passionate, tight-wound, well-meaning man, who just happens to be in way over his head. There is never any doubt that he tries to do right by others, even if he doesn’t always trust the scientists or understand them. He never throws them under the bus, and takes responsibility when he makes mistakes. Neird is a good guy. Scott is a douche-canoe with zero redeeming traits besides comedic value.

Chimp one is funny imo after that tho..

Show feels really mismarketed. It’s not a madcap workplace comedy. It’s more of a heartfelt feel good series.

I enjoyed the heck out of it. It has its place...

I was pretty damn high and I laughed at the Chimp flying through space.

Watched the 1st episode last night. The only thing I thought was remotely funny was the chick having to pick up the lizards around the launch site.
