I'm a new poster but I thought this would be a fun thing to discuss.

What's your favorite movie of the decade?

Mine would be Django.

I just rewatched social network the other week. I think it’s great. Not sure about best of the decade. I’d have to really think about that one.

I don’t know if it’s the movie of the decade, but it’s pretty great

It’s up there. I do think it has the best trailer of all time though: LINK

I do hate how David Fincher and Aaron Sorkin didn’t make “The Disaster Artist”. It was still a really good movie, but only because the source material was that good. If they had made that film, I think it would be able to rival it and only be funnier. Plus Nick Cage should have portrayed Tommy, even if James Franco did a pretty good job.

I've watched The Social Network once and wasn't really impressed. But I'm not all that enamored with social media to begin with.

My favorite of the decade is Inherent Vice. Second would probably be Mad Max: Fury Road.

And for this question, either Ex Machina or Blade Runner 2049.

He also thinks Casualties of War (Michael J. Fox/Sean Penn) is the best war movie of all-time.

And Carrie is a Top 10 film of all-time along with Blow-Out.

Basically anything Brian De Palma has done.

Figured his best film of the decade would be some Hong Kong flick nobodies ever heard of.

Don't even get me started on my love for Inherent Vice... but The Social Network is better I think.

Best theater experience of the decade... Dunkirk.

Best cinematography of the decade... tie between Revenant and Tree of Life.

Best screenplay of the decade... Social Network.

Best acting of the decade... Probably Joaquin Phoenix in The Master.

I don think that’s needed to like the movie. At all.

I don’t listen to or know a damn thing about jazz, but I loved Whiplash

Fincher/Sorkin and production values of the (music and cinematography) propped the unlikeable and robotic characters.

Maybe this is an old school take, but when I watch a movie I like to feel some of emotional connection, relatable characters, or something to pull for. You get none of that in the Social Network... it’s just cold AF.

Not saying it’s not a great movie, just wouldn’t sniff the top of my personal list.
