Defenses will be more fun to watch. Way less reaction and more proactive approach

Both won a national title while coaching at LSU. It's hard to say right now.

Can we let the man coach a game first? I know people soured on Dave at the end, but it’s hard to improve much on what he did here. Bo was a great hire and I expect him to do well again.

Bo Pelini's defenses will be SIGNIFICANTLY better than Aranada's, especially between the 20s.

Aranda was great at lsu, but the defenses were very leaky.

In terms of the style yes. Coach O wants his defensive lineman attacking making TFL’s Sacks. He wants more turnovers also. This exactly the brand of defense he envisioned since he took over. Nothing against aranda at all, he was a great defensive coordinator but man am I excited about this 4-3 defense with Pelini and the helm. He matches the intensity and fire Coach O wants as a person and also defensive coordinator!!!!

Pelini’s defenses were some of the meanest ever at LSU

No

But there won’t be a big drop off

Will miss Aranda’s creativity and ability to get the best players on the field

And he was the best 2nd half DC in CFB. Elite adjuster

Bo had top 3 defenses at LSU. Aranda regressed every year seemingly. I’ll say Bo is an upgrade

Will be very hard to say at this point. There’s a reason Dave was offered a HC job at a pretty decent D1 program.

Bo was/is no slouch either though. His defenses were incredibly aggressive. Almost like an offense playing D.

Will be fun to watch.

it would appear Dave has at least 7 accounts. or more than likely we just have some ignorant fans bc Bo is far better than Dave.

Pelini's goal is to be a P5 coach again. My concern is he will be one and done at LSU as was Muschamp at Auburn. Of course if 2020 is a repeat National Championship on the back of an aggressive Pelini defense I'm ok with that.

Xs and Os aside, I really think Bo’s style fits better here. LSU always has great athletes and most DCs will have success these days.

But I prefer a passionate and fiery DC with an aggressive style. Grantham has had that at Florida and I think he’s been the best DC in the SEC the last couple years. It’s nice to have that again with Bo imo

Bo won a title because the defense was so stout, Aranda won a title because the offense was ungodly. I think it's an upgrade but time will tell

I like them both, but I like Bo a lot more.

I'm still waiting for somebody to explain the coverage Aranda had us playing against Alabama with one minute to play.

If Bo has adapted to the crazy offense schemes, then an upgrade. If not, we will miss Dave.

Just going off memory but I don't recall during Pelini's time here thinking "that was a great offense we just stoned."

And for the newer offenses we did play he seemed to struggle to crack the code.

Dave frustrated me for about ten weeks but we played great down the stretch.

Hard to say. Pelini was very, very good.....13 years ago.

The type of offenses he will be facing are much different now.

ETA: Let’s also not forget that the defense nearly cost LSU a title in 2007 when they couldn’t stop a 6-6 Arkansas team.
