Former NFL quarterback Ryan Leaf has been arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery in Palm Springs, California. TMZ Sports first reported it. Leaf was taken into custody on Friday afternoon.

Details of the incident itself are not clear. All that's currently known, according to the information available on the Riverdale County Sheriff's Department's website, is that Leaf was booked on a single charge and that his bail was set for $5,000.

Not a lot is known but this is too bad to hear. I was hoping Leaf could stay sober and commentate some more Sark after Dark action.

I really have been enjoying his interviews and analysis. Dude seemed to have turned the corner. Doubtful he ever gets another shot at redemption if there is anything to this.

Let’s not Jump to conclusions. You don’t have to necessarily be on one to beat the hell out of your partner and if he was high he would have probably had it on him when he got arrested

Too bad. As others have said, I enjoyed his analysis last season and he appeared to be a nice redemption story.

If he was charged with a misdo domestic battery it could be anything.

quote:

"Unlawful use of force or violence" refers to any illegal physical contact inflicted upon your intimate partner. The prosecution does not have to show you caused pain or harm to your intimate partner. They only have to show that the physical contact was made out of anger or disrespect.

Upon means to touch your intimate partner's body, clothing or something closely attached to or closely connected to your intimate partner. This can include touching the intimate partner's hat, purse, knocking something out of your partner's hand, or smashing their windshield as they drive away from you.
(Hello Elin Woods)

If he was slapping a GF or spouse around he would've been charged with a felony.

Him or Josh Hamilton?

I think I'd rather read a book on Hamilton over Leaf

I’d pump the brakes on judgment. Lot of cops arrest both parties in a domestic dispute.

Just grabbing her to keep her from throwing shite around the house gets called DV.

It's law in most States that they have to arrest at least one party just simply to separate them...and 95% of the time they arrest the guy.

Could've been a verbal altercation and he threw her towel on the ground and got in her face and said "don't talk to me!" Or threw her purse across the room.

Who knows? But if she had bruises, black eye, bleeding, whatever it would say Felony DV battery.

Not all of these cases are Ray Rice. I don't what happened but there's cases of girls attacking guys and one shove to get her off you can land you in jail

I hate this. I don’t know if I just love a good comeback story or if it’s because you love to see a guy get his life back on track, but this sucks.

Exactly, if it's just a misdemeanor charge it could be damn near anything. But it also means the cops were called for a reason.

Leaf is pretty much a ticking time bomb at this point. He's been coming on Dan Patrick's show for years, and every time, he basically says, 'oh that guy's gone, I had demons and immaturity, I got help, I'm fine now' and then 3 months later he gets arrested... Maybe he's just round too many crazy arse bitches, or maybe he just can't stay clean. Who knows, he seems like the classic Jekyl and Hyde addict.

He's also on of the better CFB analysts working now. He actually tells the viewer things he's seeing that either do or don't look good for certain teams, and how, if one team does not change this or that, they're going to get beat.
