I know Enterprise has tried to buy Hertz a few times in the past but the government stopped it because it would create a Monopoly. Even though that was already accomplished when Enterprise bought National and Alamo.
I used to love seeing the jackasses get mad at Enterprise and say "I'm just going to go to fricking National instead"

And now they have less competition. Loss for consumers.

I wouldn’t buy a ragged out rental car for anything.

Grown men injecting the word “arse” in “grown arse men” is weirder yet!

As a consumer how can you get excited about fewer choices in the market place?

I once had a Hertz rental that wouldn’t start after I filled it with gas. They advised me to leave the keys under the floor mat and call Enterprise.

Is this going to be like the Seifeld Kramer tours? I’m down for a tulaneLSU led tour with a mini 3 mustketeers.

Not sure why anyone would cheer the bankruptcy of a 38,000 employee, 150 country company.
Also, I would never buy a rental car. I don't care how low-mileage it is. Not only do the customers drive the shite out of those cars, the employees do too.

Do you work a car rental desk at an airport or something?

I just lost about 50K hertz reward points. I was going to use for vacation when shite returned to normal.

I think they are filling chapter 11, not actually liquidating. I certainly don't want to see any Americans lose their jobs except for some personal injury attorneys and some government employees. Otherwise, yeah this is not a good thing.

Late to the thread....but my first car was a Christmas gift from my parents when I was in high school, and it was a Hertz rental that was sold. I was happy as shite to have that car. This was mid-1980s, and my dad paid 5k for a 2 yr old car with 30k miles on it. Drove the the hell out of that car for about 4 years, then upgraded to something else.
Today, you'll pay 15-20k for a reliable Toyota or Nissan with 120-200k miles on it. Crazy.

I’ve always preferred hertz to enterprise. Faster service and always have what I want.
