Jets are signing former Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco to a one-year deal, sources tell ESPN. Jets GM Joe Douglas was a Ravens’ scout in 2008, when Baltimore drafted Flacco in round one. Now Flacco will rejoin Douglas, and compete for the backup job when he’s healthy and ready.

Joe Flacco’s 1-year deal with the Jets is worth $1.5 million that with incentives can bring it to $4.5 million, per source.

I only put Dilfer and Hostetler ahead of him on a list of quarterbacks who “fell into” Super Bowl wins.

If Darnold sees ghosts again Flacco might get some snaps

Flacco is a little different in that their super bowl run coincided with the most improbable hot streak by Flacco I think we’ve ever seen in sports.

Flacco did a little more than “fell into” that SB.

This.
Say what you want about him, but he seemed to take his game to another level in the playoffs early in his career, and he was incredible in that 2012-2013 playoff run.
People forget that he had a playoff record of 9-4 over the first 5 years of his career, capped off by that win in SB XLVII.

Ehhh let’s pump the brakes. That’s what makes that super bowl run so frickin crazy

Except that Flacco had arguably the best playoff run any QB has ever had that year.

He didn’t really fall into it, though. It definitely wasn’t a Dilfer situation. Flacco played well during that playoff run.

Yep, I’m still gonna consider one hot run “falling into” a Super Bowl win. I never thought of Flacco as a good quarterback. Always thought of him as propped up by his OL, running game, and defense.

He played really well on that run. It was obviously a flukey streak of play but that’s different than someone like Dilfer game managing the shite out of it with a world class defense

It’s hard to try to make this argument when he clearly didn’t get propped up during his actual super bowl run.

In 1987 Doug Williams started two games for the Redskins during the regular season. They lost both games.
Prior to that season he hadn't completed a pass in the NFL since 1982, had been in the USFL or a backup with the 'Skins
Also would put Flacco ahead of Brad Johnson

Rahim Moore is to blame for Joe Flacco’s super bowl win. I maintain that stance.

What year did Flacco go 4/10 34 yards 0/1 and destroy the Patriots?

Their teams won in spite of them. Flacco literally long balled the Ravens to the championship

And Peyton manning threw a dumbass interception across his body in overtime to put the ravens in field goal position

By run, you mean play?
Uh Joe Montana 1989.
Nobody comes close to that run.
