How is this movie? It's $4 on Amazon right now and I have insomnia.
(BTW, yes this is the Hitler movie)

Great movie
I had some promotional credits so it ended up being free. I'm about to start it.

I thought it was amazing. It was the only Hitler movie I've ever seen that made you feel like you were sitting there watching the real thing

The very first Downfall parody video was at the launch of MS Flight Simulator X in 2006. It was fun times being in the flight sim community when that beauty dropped.

It's an excellent film though there are some who argue that it's one of the most sympathetic films portraying Hitler which I don't completely buy. I think it does humanize him at times though.
Definitely worth a watch if WW2 interests you.

i remember an interview with the actor who played hitler and he was absolutely heartbroken that he received more notoriety for the parodies than the actual film.

It's as good a foreign language film as there is.

The scene with Goebbels children is one of the most gut wrenching things I ever sat through.

Hitler was a man of extreme contrasts. Recall he was an artist by training and inclination. He demonstrated significant flashes of humanity at times, particularly through his writing and his actions with animals and children.
I mean, both he and Stalin were sort of known for their senses of humor (particularly when young) and were 2 of the most brutal killers and despots in history.

Before you mock an artist, remember he/she could be the next Hitler.

It sets the bar. It blows all of the other movies about the final days of Hitler (The Bunker, Hitler's Last Ten Days, etc.) out of the water then bitch slaps them back to 1945. It's worth the 4 deutschmarks.
