God damn, that was a great movie. The performances were great too.
Something about it sucks you in and doesn't let you go until the credits roll. The 150 minutes went fast.

Will echo the other posts here.
Hitler and the Nazis are not abstract villains here, they are not caricatures, they don't represent an "idea".
They are portrayed simply as politicians and generals in the waning days of a military defeat. While the acting is truly great, the perspective granted here is the real draw. If this was about any other political group at any other time in history it would be an uneventful but fairly good movie.
