The top Democrats in Congress are calling on President Trump to order that flags be flown at half-staff at all public buildings on the day the U.S. reaches 100,000 deaths caused by the novel coronavirus.
In a letter sent to the president on Thursday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) wrote that the tribute would serve as a "national expression of grief so needed by everyone."

If the dems were actually helping during this time, well I could see doing things like this.
This is just a pr stunt.
The question though is in reality should he do it.
Trump should own this thing. I think his staff and the covid task force has done an amazing job. The whole world is looking for PPE, yet we never ran out or really bought any crap.
Obviously the ventilator situation was blown out of proportion from the get go.
The way the country mobilized around this thing has been amazing. Its interesting. When its a pandemic, suddenly even the dems are all about this country.
When its not its globe. WTF. Anyways, different topic for a different day.
I think the Trump campaign should go on a blitz showing all the things that the task force has done. Honestly, I would throw the CDC under the bus and get rid of the head of the cdc.
And then yes, when we get to 100k deaths, we should mourn. For all the deaths. As Trump has constantly said all deaths are sad. And as the early models suggested, the actual deaths from the virus are a tenth of what was projected or even less.
Don't do a victory lap. Show the great things this country has done. And mourn the deaths. And oh yeah, blame china.

Imagine being so evil that you exploit the deaths of innocent Americans by lowering all flags to try to create a visual reminder of what you see as "Trump killed these people"
