With LSU/Bama and UGA/Bama, I think the chance of CBS using their night game on LSU/TX is very, very slim. Texas will not be ranked on the Top 10 at game time.

I have really grown to dread any CBS game for LSU. From the early time slots to endless commercials, they are awful.

They only get 15 games including the SEC champ per the contract. They typically don’t pick up early season non conference bouts because they want to pick up the league games later in the season especially Thanksgiving week when they air multiple games across multiple days.

I can’t remember the last time they picked up a game in Week 2. They’ll also be focused on the NFL season starting on that Sunday.

There are two league matches that weekend: UK vs Fla and Vandy at Mizzou. They may be contractually obligated to take those first. UGA/ND seemed to be an exception and they may have been able to option for it as a night game.

There are 13 weeks they can pull a game and they pick up double headers Thanksgiving week and the night game week which makes for 15. They may not want to take one of those weeks for a non-conference game like LSU/TX.

If they do they’d probably (hopefully) use their one Primetime slot they get a season. Idk if they’d risk doing that again this year like they did with UGA/ND and miss out on a potential big SEC November match like LSU/Bama ended up being. But it’s their gamble to take I suppose.

Yeh it’s going to be at 2:30 on CBS

The network gets first dibs

And there’s no way around it

LSU/Bama or UGA/Bama will be the one primetime game.

Yea that was the game cbs picked their night game for which I doubt they would for LSU Texas this year(Probably will be Bama/Georgia or Bama/LSU)

Don't underestimate the allure of early-season excitement along with non-traditional SEC matchups with big-name opponents

Everybody has seen lsu-alabama and everyone has seen Alabama Georgia

It's about the best ratings, not the best game.

Day game sun bears more heavily on the visitors sideline. Advantage? Also the fans empty out earlier on that side. Disadvantage? CBS ought to take note. Empty seats in view probably means less TV viewers. Ratings suffer, but they are in charge. Foresight is in the past. Oxymoron?

We want a 2:30 pm matchup or noon. We are paying them back for the no AC in the opposing team locker room last season. Their locker room is going to be scorching hot for them at Death Valley this season.

As a fan planning on being in attendance, I would much prefer we just beat them without bush league tactics while staying out of the sun

In 2018 they aired the West Virginia @ UT game in week 1....technically not week 2, but earlier.

Part of me is thinking frick the 230 game but shite lately we’ve been dominant in the 230 slot.

2015 Auburn
2017 Auburn, Florida
2018 Georgia, Auburn
2019 Bama

exactly.

Texas hasn’t been “Texas” for a while now, but they still move the needle for big games.

CBS showed ND-UGA at night, so a night game from them is possible...
