What's the craziest thing you saw or heard about during Katrina?

Was talking to a guy at work today and he said during Katrina, Chris Kyle (American Sniper Guy) was shooting/killing looters off the top of the Superdome.
Thought this would be a good spinoff.
Any good stories would be nice to read.

A very good friend was a foreman for a cleanup company doing work at the Convention Center. They were cleaning one of the kitchens and pulled out a whole pig that had been sealed in the fridge for a few months. It disintegrated when they tried to lift it to throw it away. His description of what it looked like and smelled like was disturbing.

We weren't that hard hit from the weather in BR but man the influx of people and traffic was something else.
It was taking me 2 hrs to drive 7 miles to work some days. Grocery stores didn't have hardly anything on the shelves. Had to wait in line for an hour to get gas.

The Danziger Bridge shooting was absolutely horrifying. It revealed how corrupt the NOPD continued to be at the time.
