Know a girl who was 17 at the time and very attractive who went on a ride along with a couple cops and they pulled over this black guy for no reason. Said they would make up a reason and pulled a gun on him. He happened to be a pastor or something. She suspects they were trying to impress her but she was pretty disturbed by it and being only 17 she decided to stay quiet. I’ve always supported the blue and still do but it does suck there are people out there like that.

What's the craziest thing you saw or heard about during Katrina?
Sure it's been mentioned, but:

We took a 18' flats boat down blind river, through Maurepas, Pontchartrain, and to lakeshore so my friend could get his PlayStation out of the UNO 2nd floor dorms. The devastation of that area 5 days after the storm was something I'll never forget. We ended up bringing 3 people back with us who were seeking shelter in the dorms.
It all started as a fun "undercover" kid thing and ended with something that has helped us mature to this day. It was the saddest thing I've ever witnessed with my own eyes. I'll never forget the view from top floor of that dorm looking out into a "war zone."

Not during but people swear that the Florida parishes and Br were so much nicer and cleaner before Katrina.
Bogalusa was FUBAR so I don’t think we got an immediate influx, if we did I didn’t notice. I have seen a lot of 3 acre “farms” in “the country” and everyone There has a chalmette accent.

Not one mention of the Texas rangers that came in to help with the looters and gang bangers. The stories of gangs outside the state coming in are true but they weren’t from the city of angels. They were mostly from Texas. I’ll never forget right after storm seeing the Texas rangers. Buncha cowboys had a group of 6-7 looters lying face down on the pavement. Telling them there’s a new sheriff in town that will uphold the law and not join in. I believe the majority of Nola pd were good but man did the bad ones make them all look bad.
