Why keep Ensminger as the OC if he needs his hand held?

Some believe it was all Brady though.

I find it is mostly fans of other teams, which I don’t care what they think! They didn’t think Joe burrow was good until he proved them wrong

He was here last year and worked with Brady and at least knows Brady’s offense.

O trusts him. And we are still holding his hand.

Linehan will come in and bring different stuff to the table. You’ve got to be able to evolve because good defensive minds will be able to figure out the same offensive schemes.

Yes joe Brady was huge to our success. But how many people thought Burrow would do what he did? The same thing for this year, let's wait and see. I have faith that we will do well.

OP, you’re totally right.

Take Alabama for example. The only reason they been so productive offensively over the last 5 years is due to the consistency on offensive staff...sigh

Joe Brady was way overhyped relative to reality. Nonetheless, Steve Ensminger as offensive coordinator was the decision-maker who made all of the decisions of what went into the LSU playbook and what didn't go into the LSU playbook. He was also the architect that knew how to transform those NFL N.O. Saints plays so that they could work in college football.

Furthermore, Steve Ensminger was also the primary play-caller because they figured correctly beforehand that Joe Brady was probably going to be a one and done guy.

I'm glad they went out and hired Scott Linehan, as he has far more coaching experience relative to Joe Brady, and also because of his age, he should fit in with the coaching staff better than Joe Brady fit in.

Id expect the offense will return to average to slightly above average without brady and burrow. Ensminger has proven over his career to be an average OC. Without brady, id expect something similar with good athletes that might make the offense slightly above average. Burrow aint walking through that door. Id expect to score more in the 20s and 30s and less in the 40s and 50s

The offenses we’ve ran the last 20 years were also QUITE simple.

Don’t overthink this.

We had the greatest CFB player in history for two years.

The second year he had a real offense.

Do you honestly believe a coach with 30 years experience wasn't able to study the offense we ran last year and learn it?

Exactly!!

And if by any chance he cannot run it as well as last year, Linehan is here to assist. Furthermore, teams have film from last year and had a long time to prepare, but there is no more Burrow. Therefore, Linehan and E will tweak it a bit, Linehan will put his offensive genius mind to work, and we will be fine because we have many weapons and a QB who can sling it.

4,300 yards, 36 TD 9 Int, 10-2 for 2020
4,900 yards, 40 TD 7 Int, 14-1 for 2021 Nat. Champs (Running Backs will be studs in 2020 so over 2,500 yards on the ground between 4 backs with breakdown- 1,200, 700, 300, 300)

I have a feeling you will be disappointed if you think brennan is about to throw 36 tds this year and over 4,000 yards

I think 28 and 3,200 should be a goal

How do people not understand this shows a total lack of faith in Ensminger

It’s going to hurt because of the week to week innovation, energy, and feel for games he has.

But he didn’t call 90% of the plays, the playbook and drills he installed remain, and Ensminger/Orgeron are both willing to adapt to what works.

We’ll be ok, but never that good.
