Late to Phil's story. Just now reading the words of his recovery. In with a donation!
Owl you have been a great poster and contributor here. You have lifted up this place out of the doldrums when it needed it. Your IRL friends from here speak the world of you (suspect, I know, for some of us, lol) but I wish you all the best.
You will likely be on blood thinners for the rest of your life now, but if in the Houston area, I'd buy you a beer anyway. And we could rehash the evils and illegalities of traffic cameras in there recent municipal application here in Lafayette. Or not.

Hang in there, do what the doctors tell you. Men generally don’t take good care of themselves until something unexpected happens. Take it as a wake up call. You will improve. ( high blood pressure stroke in 2015 for me) hard to ask for help but people are usually more than glad to. Best wishes for a full recovery
