I did a bike ride by your place this morning. Saw 2 deer out grazing in a field by your place. Strange to see them in town like that just going about their business.

were they wearing masks?
Posted on 7/21/20 at 10:11 am to OWLFAN86
No and they were looking at me in a creepy sort of way.

Threads like this give me hope for humanity. The power of the OT displayed in this thread along with the #AirHonkus movement have been highlights during this crazy year. So to all the haters (especially Maddie & her sister Leslie Landry) do us all a favor and go frick yourselves, this board has done more good for its members than you have done for residents of your district.

Hi All,
Like all good things, the sticky will be coming to an end. The thread will still exist, but will no longer be stuck.
I want to thank each and every one of y'all that contributed and/or left kind or encouraging words for our little Mexican/Samoan friend.
To date, we are at $21,050, which exceeded the initial goals a couple of times over, but still about $4k short of the stretch goal of $25k. If we can hit that, then that would be great.
This board...with all of the things going on in the world right now, it is amazing to see a group of people that largely do not know each other come together and support someone they likely do not know. As many have said in this thread - it does give a small glimmer of hope that humanity does exist in most people and that we generally all care for each other.
So, thank you...again...to all of you that make this place so great.
Also, a special thanks to Chicken and Circus Child for being so gracious.

I wish there were bigger better more profound words than "Thank you". Those two simple words don't seem enough. I have been profoundly affected by the past 3 months first the stroke then waking up from the stroke. But mostly the reaction the from people who had no reason to love me but somehow did.
It's not enough just say my right side was paralyzed or I couldn't speak. I was paralyzed with fear shame and grief mostly for myself but also for the family members and my cat Sophie who would have to suffer and do the work to bury me.
That's right the first day is after the stroke my plan was to get out of the hospital and kill myself because in my pride I felt someone less of a man and the idea of being a burden or responsibility or complications for others was humiliating.
And then people started reaching out. Rummy ask my permission to post this thread I never would have done it myself. But prior to going into I made a few calls to friends letting them know so they wouldn't wonder what it happened to me.
There were several posters that knew about it and all managed to keep it private for a week and a half and then Rummy asked permission to post to go fund me and I said yes because I didn't want my family to have to pay the bills that I knew would come.
And that is really when my life changed. All these people some strangers some I had only met once some I only knew as a character anonymous on a message board that isn't real life, and always thought of as a stupid distraction a time waster.
And in a weekend a collection of useful idiots became my salvation people who barely knew me in some reasons didn't know me suddenly we're showering me with love and donations and support and words of encouragement.
Sure I've given money to causes in my past sometimes those causes were from this board it was just money, and sometimes I reached out to some of the people to check on them to ask how they were doing apart from some financial need. 7th Ward tiger perhaps most legendary among those stories.
But I don't deserve this You people donated money at a time many of you aren't working and we're all dealing with pandemic and economic effects.
And many of you did more than just donate many have reached out on Facebook and then text emails and phone calls. And then strangers did the same The flesh and blood and heart of real people who previously had it known as one the other idiots on tiger droppings.
Furthermore people who had gone through strokes or other medical emergencies reached out and opened up their hearts told their stories encourage me give me hope. That's an amazing level of vulnerability that says a lot about the character that is in the people who are on this board playing characters.
At the beginning of this long-winded Oweoesque post I said the words thank you don't seem enough so I'll change that to words that take just as long But are much more accurate expression of how I feel.
I love you.
Could you at least mention something about the glorious hair? I love you most of all Scarecrow

I've offered my services in the form of chauffeur. It would burn through is GFM in weeks if I charged him what I'm worth.
