Are you fricking retarded as well as fat and happy? He ran across the street to get AWAY from the guy with a shotgun. They meet up right in front of the truck. What are you watching? Or what are you seeing?

That's pretty easily a case for 2nd murder, and it could be argued that 1st degree fits as well.
I hate to bring race into this thing, cuz i really do try to avoid it. But if you completely reverse roles here, 2 black guys see saw a white guy jogging in the neighborhood whom they don't recognize. They automatically assume he was up to no good. So they grab their guns to follow him, and ambush him in the street. After abushing said white jogger, they get into an altercation and proceed to shoot and kill the guy.
Those guys would have been prosecuted with the quickness, and you wouldn't have any posters here trying to claim the shooters innocence. Or dig into the victim's past so they can tear down their character.

He was trolling. You gonna stand by that with the 911 transcript from daddy before he jumped in truck? They had no fricking clue what this man actually did on that very day. They suspected a ton of bullshite and murdered him. Deal with it. And do better.

We never would’ve heard about it

There will be so much more to this. The fact that he went from running on the left side of the road to cross the road and going to the right side of the truck and then suddenly fight a guy for the shotgun. This will take a huge turn
What are you talking about? They cut him off, and the driver stepped out to confront him. He had no choice but to fight.

It’s scary so many posters rush to judgement after only watching a minute video. I guess they know all the facts
BINGO!!!
This board can be so damn prejudicial at times.
Let’s reverse the roles for a second. What if that was your son running down the road and 2 thugs in a Cadillac with rims roll up on him from behind. They corner him and jump out of the vehicle with pistols pointed hollering “Hey boy, you’re in the wrong neighborhood”. Your son, frightened for his life at this point, makes a split decision to defend himself. In the mist of the altercation, thug #1 ends up shooting and killing your son with the gun he had just earlier brandished.
Who TF would you say is at fault now? Your arse would be outraged. You sure as hell would not be saying “well, my son could have been in the wrong. Let’s wait until all the facts come out before we rush to judgement and charging these 2 thugs with murder”. And that’s even AFTER a video is released showing the exact moments that lead up to your son being killed while unarmed and minding his own business.
Unbelievable.

There are many murders in the U.S.A. every day. This is one of them. We have a legal system to punish the culprits.
Why is this one national news? The video is not very good. The 2 guys are going to prison. This is just another day.

If the victim had not charged the killer than yes, but that opens the possibility that the guns were only to detain. They could make the argument that the first shot was intended to warn him, but he put his hand in front of the barrel. The deadly shot came when they were struggling. I don’t know enough about the legal arguments to say for sure what the convictions will be, but I’m sure that in six months I’ll be as expert in this as I am in epidemiology now.

In other words, the same as what’s happening here?
I haven’t read anyone claiming these guys are innocent. The feeling on here is overwhelmingly in favor of first degree and the death penalty - often by novel means.

Put it this way, if one chose to enter into mutual combat outside of Reggie's one night, he probably isn't gonna be very successful with a self defense claim if he decided to pull out a piece and end it that way, even if it appeared as if he was about to get his arse handed to him. To assert that the he was in fear of his life due to other fighter possibly wrestling away the gun that the he pulled out in the first place....that ain't gonna cut it.

Someone give me a scenario of how a citizens arrest should go down. Do the citizens arrest laws allow the citizen to arrest at gunpoint? If so, then they go free, period. They called the police to tell them that is what they were doing beforehand. Why is the belief that they left home with the intent to kill the guy? Why call the cops if that is the case?
The intent to kill the guy wasn’t there, in my opinion, until the physical altercation started and the other guy was in fear for his life from the deceased getting the gun. You can argue that they shouldn’t have been there all you want and I would agree with you and I would agree the citizens arrest laws need to go away, but IF they allow you to arrest at gunpoint, then I think they have a very strong case for self defense.
It’s all about the prerequisites for the citizens arrest and if they were within the law to be there in the first place.

Well, aside from the race factor, probably because this happened in February and they just arrested the shooters yesterday. Local law enforcement did their best to cover it up.

LOL.
Two (presumably three) white guys with guns road block an unarmed black man to perform a citizens arrest and the white guys can claim self defense? GTFO, y’all are crazy.

Well, for one because the legal system decided NOT to punish the culprits for over 2 months before the public found out about it

They will get 1st or 2nd. Guy filming or someone else will testify for prosecution to avoid being tied to it. He will testify he was a racist, said he’d shoot someone, etc...

Got you. I thought they were pushing a local crime through the national media just to stir up bad feelings. This sounds more like a prosecutor may need a little jail time.
