Not a popular take but Leonard was the epitome of a coddled athlete. He got entitled.
I never appreciated that he didn’t play in the bowl game for us. The injury excuse was just a cover.

I wish him well but he’s not my favorite tiger for sure

Fournette got physically too big and it hurt his health. He’s back down in weight but he’s gotten stiff compared to how he used to be. Watch his junior and senior film and watch his body alone. He came in overweight as a freshman at LSU overweight, lost a lot of it as a sophomore and had a great season, then got injured as a junior and got big again and showed up at the combine weighing 240lbs.

He’s never had a problem with his strength and straight line speed. Cutting weight helps him regain acceleration and speed. What Fournette has always lacked is lateral agility and balance. That’s what he’s needed to work on.

I’ve never heard any complaints about lack of effort while he was a Tiger

Go watch the Auburn game.... specifically the turn stile that he turned into against the AU edge rusher. Pathetic effort when the Tigers needed him most.

Im not here to crap on Leonard, (his younger brother is an entirely different story), he was an amazing talent at LSU. ANd when he was rolling other teams single handedly, I was LSU proud. He can be as good as he wants to be, which is a Hall of Famer.

The biggest problem for Fournette was Les Miles. But at the next level he has shown issues most thought didn’t expiation. Has he been a good back???? Yes.... is he even close to a game changing back????? No. I think a fresh start somewhere else would do him some good.

The problem is the team he plays for - everyone wants out of Jacksonville. No players are "buying in" - especially with Coughlin in charge (who they finally had to fire last year). All their good players leave or are traded because none are willing to sign a 2nd contract - Jalen Ramsey, AJ Bouye, and now Yannick Ngakoue. Free agents don't want to play there - at one point last year the NFLPA warned players to stay away from Jacksonville!. Get Leonard to a decent team, he'll be fine if he stays healthy.

Nailed it. It's a terrible organization.

Ehhh idk about that. There were thoughts about him “nursing” his injury his junior year.

I'm not sure how serious this "argument" was but Jamal Adams certainly put it out there:

And then Adams went straight for the throat, accusing Fournette of quitting on the Tigers and faking an injury. As you might remember, Fournette somewhat famously sat out the final two games of his LSU career with an ankle injury that had reportedly nagged him for much of the season. Makes sense... coming from the cat that quit on us & faked a injury!

Well Les had him running up the middle in a predictable dinosaur offense, so the defense knew what was coming. so it’s hard to say if he was overrated or didn’t give best effort.

And what does he get from LSU scumbag fans? Piss and shite balloons. Got to be the worst fans in the world.

Don’t confuse the idiot scumbags (many of which aren’t even LSU fans) in here with real LSU fans. There’s a few true P&G ones but most are Mizzou type arse clowns.

He would have been a beast in last years offense...sure he felt the same way watching the games last year
Never could understand why the tigers did not throw to him out of the backfield or crossing routes
Les was so hard headed that it cost him his job...change never hurt anyone...

Guy also isn't the type to make the first man miss before he gets momentum.

I’ve always thought he’s not that instinctive in reading the hole or his blocks. He just doesn’t see the field well and cut towards the “space.” He doesn’t seem to have a jump cut. Guide had much better vision and ability to cut.

Yep even Fred Taylor a contributor/analyst for the jags has mentioned that Fournette has lanes sometimes for long yardage but misses them. LF has all the tools like speed and power but lacks vision. LF is a good NFL back but not an elite back.
