Is Texas is giving up the extra 600.00 reopening restaurants at 25%?

I think there is still an emergency order in place but just with fewer restrictions. You don't have to have a stay at home order for an emergency order.

THEY HAVE ALWAYS GONE AFTER THE frickING MONEY!!!!!!!!!!

That’s what this has always been about with JBE. The day he realized this wasn’t a threat to overwhelm the hospitals, he knew he needed federal dollars because the states economy is practically fricked because oil is less than $20/barrel yet our budget is based on $60. That’s not even including the damage done because there is no tourism and restaurants are down significantly.

@LouisianaGov executive counsel sends a letter to GOP legislative leaders saying if an effort to rescind the gov's order goes forward, Louisiana would in effect reopen schools, cancel federal aid, etc.

Sounds good dickhead. When can we start?

What are they going to do when they get there? you think teachers just have a curriculum and lesson plans laying around prepared for 3 months of school at the drop of a hat?

Seriously - Do Louisiana School Districts not have a Director if Curriculum that approve and help supply schools with curriculum? Have none of those teachers taught their classes before this year? Are they really making everything up from scratch each week/month/quarter/year?

The issue is that once the the Leg overrides there is no emergency order to take its place. That could affect federal money such as fema, ppp, national guard, etc.

There are ways around this. The Leg could block the gov for 1 hour and then negotiate a phase 1 new governor order. Or just threaten to do so. That puts it back on him.

If he refuses, block it again for 30 days. We would be 100% open but local parishes could immediately issue their own emergency, trump phase 1 or nola like orders. They could then potentially request waivers and get some of those federal funds directly.

Private schools have one

And why would you need a 3 month curriculum from day 1? Just make your lessons as you go like teachers already did

When they cancelled school they only had 14 days of instruction left...the rest was fluff and testing/exams.

You think the teachers can just shite out 3 months of lesson plans in 2 days?

START WITH STATE EMPLOYEES.

START IN DOTD, THEN GO TO DIV. OF ADMIN.

THEN CLOSE ABOUT 11 OF THE 14 COLLEGES WE HAVE.

THATS A GOOD START.

Across the board. Every single budget. This way, the pain is spread out evenly and the damage is as minimal as possible.

Completely defund COA though as that’s a worthless organization.

Our public schools have a district curriculum director. Public schools probably need that position as much or more than private.

And I’m sure they don’t need a 3 month curriculum. I was just pointing out that they should be able to walk into the classroom next week and teach. It’s not like they are starting from nothing. Hell, we distributed chrome books and implemented full online learning in 5 days, including modified lesson plans. Saying they couldn’t pickup next week is absurd.

All of this is moot anyway. The governor can waive mandatory days and continue on,Ive learning without an emergency order.

Why do they need too goo back to school for 3 months when they really only had 3 weeks of instruction time left?

Not to mention they've been doing doing hours a day of Google Classroom from day one and hours of schoolwork and turning in assignments and getting graded
