It would be nicer in Plaquemine

It is. Too bad it is such an awful waste of resources.

Spending like $800 million dollars for about 300 cars per day is a very Louisiana thing to do. Some politician probably lives in New Roads and travels frequently to St Francisville.

Why go to San Francisco. We have our own Golden Gate Bridge. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconcheers.gif)

I use it weekly and am one of the few it benefits. As much as it makes life easier for me, it is such a waste.

It’s a cool arse looking bridge, but what a complete waste of millions.

It’s all nice until you actually cross it and the smell of paper mill arse hits you like a brick wall.

I have heard this argument before.
While apparently true, it still doesn't make sense to squander the resources just because this is what was budgeted. Budgets get changed and funds reallocated based on need all the time.
That bridge project would have saved millions for the driving public and increased safety if it would have been put further south down the river.

I'm glad they built it. There needs to be more bridges. No bridge from BR to Natchez is just dumb. It will serve a purpose someday. Mabye when they expand hwy10 into a viable alternative to I-10..

The bridge we use and less know about. What a waste of money.
