Only fans who don't understand football at all don't see this as an excellent pick. Our line was dominant much of the year until injuries set in. from the 49'ers game forward, they were a major liability and the reason for our playoff exit. This is the pick you make that helps you in the short term and to bridge to the post-Brees era.

It’s not really about Ruiz. Its a good pick
It’s about not LSU. As an LSU fan, this was the year for us to get an Elite LSU guy. And they passed. Like always.
Hopefully we’ll pick up some later round guys like Moss or Phillips or trade into the 2nd for a Fulton or Delpit. Not likely tho.

I would like to The Saints to get an LSU guy, but I would much rather them draft the best player for the team. I have to trust they know more than people on a message board.
